On this forum? Surely not!
-
I've only just twigged you were "If I'm Spared Myself of course..." That was a cool name.
-
He got a BBC obit. Well, I never!
-
You could say that about anyone, Sir Creep, given there's 3000 entries in the DDP every year, and only forty in the Drop 40.

Colombian President and Nobel Prize 2016 winner Juan Manuel Santos requires "additional treatment" for his long term prostate cancer. "It's minimal" he says, flying to the USA for treatment.

For those who haven't seen it on social media (I'm convinced it was on here, but it's not showing up via search engine): Plane's going to crash. Four people on the plane. Three parachutes. The four are David Beckham, the Pope, a schoolboy and Donald Trump. Beckham grabs the first parachute, says "My fans need me", and leaves the plane. Trump grabs the second, says "I'm the smartest President in history, the world needs me", and leaves the plane. The Pope turns to the schoolboy, and says: "My boy, you take the final parachute. I am an old man, you have your life ahead of you." The schoolboy smiles. "Don't worry, we can both take a parachute," he said. "The smartest President in history just took my schoolbag."

I'm like ok who TF is AA Gill. A restaurant critic. Thread-worthiness bar has been lowered once again. SC He is a big figure in Britain.Extremely well known for his writing and critique.Would unquestionably get an obit in every major news publication in Britain and his death would make the news bulletins almost certainly.I am trying to think of an American equivalent but I can`t. American equivalent - someone like Richard Blackwell?
-
That was quick. I'll also be interested to see if he gets a QO.
-
I always thought this summed him up.
-
He played in the Costa Rica/Poland game, which presumably very few watched here, as it was on BBC4/ITV4 (delete as applicable) while the other final group game, Germany/Ecuador, was on the main channel.
-
Finally an AA Gill article I can agree with. Cruel, but fuck it, its true.

I don't know, but he was alive as of 2010, and had allegedly retired to Hampstead. Which gives folk with the ability the opportunity to search the BMDs. I had often wondered about Pat Arrowsmith, as people have a habit of referring to her in the past tense on social media, but apparently she showed up at an anti-Trident march thing in Aldermaston (!) this June.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death
msc replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Thought this was more appropriate here than in the Anniversary thread. Ah yes, the brains behind Hutchesontown C Block. In the midst of the mass "demolish all the poor peoples houses" Gorbals craze of the 1950s-70s, Spence was brought in to deal with C, which lasted until 1993. Structural issues, and continual damp. When it were demolished, the debris hit and killed a woman. Still, could be worse. He could have designed Hutchesontown E. Most of which lasted barely a decade due to structure issues, and the two survivors, the Sandiefield flats, were demolished in 2013 to much joy. At least nothing of interest got demolished for this folly. Roughly the same spot in August 2016. Anyhow, this is here because there's a collection of nice Old Glasgow photos from the 1970s on Urban Glasgow. Could take up a few minutes. Or not. -
Three years since Ray Gosling carked it. Didn't he kill a man?

What classifies a major media source is beyond me, but the Mirror covered Aki Hintsa.

Is she too obscure for the Death List? Yes.

Well, he allegedly had cancer too. It's not that difficult to imagine. He's not in great health. Gets up in the middle of night, falls. Someone's there. He tells them he's ok, just a stumble, down plays it perhaps. They believe him. He goes back to bed. Falls asleep. Accumulation of long term illness plus fall means heart gives up during night. Substitute cancer for heart issues, and that's essentially how an old uncle of mine went years ago.

She played a villain in the third series of Batman. It's over twenty years since I saw it, so can't mind her acting abilities in it, but the show was cancelled soon afterwards.

DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis

There are minimum separation distances but they vary on the type of flight rules being followed. Two aircraft at the same height and on parallel courses that are five nautical miles apart can be considered to be safe; opposite direction traffic to each other at that distance then it’s downright bloody dangerous. The official definition is ‘an Airprox is a situation in which, in the opinion of a pilot or air traffic services personnel, the distance between aircraft as well as their relative positions and speed have been such that the safety of the aircraft involved may have been compromised’. The pilot and/or controller can file a report and it will be rigorously investigated. I’ve only ever witnessed an air miss (as they were then called) once and I was in it. Me and the lads booked a Piper Aztec air-taxi in the late 70s from East Midlands to the Biggin Hill airshow. The two aircraft were at the same height and on converging courses. The rules stated that you pass with the other aircraft to your left and so we turned onto a knife-edge to the right and passed less than 200 feet behind the other plane. Whilst the manoeuvre itself was brilliant, the circumstances for doing it, wasn’t. In the admittedly unlikely event I'm ever asked to write a thriller set on a plane, at least I 'll know who to turn to for research. -

Ah, you're back. -
I've met him. He's a twat. Some unexpected inside info for you there.
-
It can't translate popularity, but it can tell you if people (and their health) have been mentioned by the accepted qualifying obits of the DDP... You don't even need to know the persons name before hand.
-
I still think it'd be funny if Zsa Zsa outlived him. Sudden heart attack, dodgy stairs, eating a ham sandwich too quickly, the possibilities are endless.

Google is your friend. It is for us and the American folk.

No, the list once sent in is locked, barring deaths. That's life for you.
