A good man is hard to find.
-
He looked in reasonable nick for his age at the RNC, until he got a name check from one of the speakers and one of the guys behind him forced him to his feet!

If Fort lost its Deathlist fans that'd knock its worldwide fandom down by about 90%, surely. Besides, Carlisle are in the same league as Blackpool now - that's half way to being guaranteed surviving any potential relegation fights. There's that club in Estonia who had a goal difference of -181 the other year, but apparently they've since gone bust.

1-0 to the Jags. It's been coming. EDIT - 4-0 Thistle now. Well, this has been most enjoyable. I doubt our resident Clyde fan would agree though.
-
Clyde might actually get a win over the Thistle tonight as its our kids against their, I assume, main team.

and she ain't happy about it. She ain't happy about the "devastating setback" recently brought to her attention. Fair enough from her position, I'd say So the cancer has spread ot the lymph nodes. http://www.thewrap.com/shannen-doherty-says-her-breast-cancer-has-spread/ I'm not sure if this is a publicity grab, or actually going to get serious. She seems a little clueless about the situation though, sometimes... "some of the cancer cells might have actually gone out of the lymph nodes" - very vague. Breast cancer can still be Stage 1 or Stage 2 if in the lymph nodes. However if she means it spread out of the lymph nodes, where to? Or perhaps she means its on the wane with pre-chemo drugs. Not on the clock, yet, but one to watch for further clarification.

It's basically the same information from last year - still gravely ill.

Piet de Jong died on July 27th, 3 days before the opening post. Ah, I see. Just as well it wasn't December 27th for some deadpools, then!
-
If there is no deadline, when is the start line? Otherwise, how can someone die before the game started, as it technically started with your opening post.
-
One of those names I learned of through their permanent presence on deadpools.

In that spirit, its the 37th anniversary of the death of Beatrix Lehmann. Those of a certain persuasion on the forum will remember her from Doctor Who's Stones of Blood, as Professor Emilia Lumford, one of the very few guest roles during that time period which threatened to steal the show from Tom Baker. Also on a Doctor Who note, Robert James, who played Lesterson in Power of the Daleks, died 12 years ago today.
-
I forgot this existed, sorry. And then wondered why I didn't have 1060 odd points, only to then twig Jenny Diski jumped the gun. Still, 2nd place after 3 months in a deadpool I didn't really understand at the time isn't too bad!

A glance suggests Christopher Brocklebank-Fowler (the only Tory to join the SDP, jumping parties mid-speech in the Commons) is still with us, aged 82.

Hillary became a Deathlist selection, and each of the 50 every year get their own personal thread. He was a successful hit in 2008.

Patrick Jenkin was Minister of Energy during the Three Day Week, but he was seconded to the Secretary of State, Lord Carrington. Though who attended Cabinet meetings seemed to change so often I find it easier to track who was in the government itself. Having had a glance at the National Archives list for Heath's Cabinet in 1974, Jenkin is counted as Energy Minister. Somewhere on this forum I made a list of living ministers/PPS's up to the Thatcher era years ago.

Puts you back within 4 points of DDT, I think.

What surprises me is that she has a fandom at all. She's done absolutely nothing to gain one. Neither has EL James, and yet, she's a millionaire. Life's a sod like that.
-
You know who is still alive? Norman Kember. With the fate of most of the other Iraqi hostages from 2004, little wonder my memory keeps assuming he was killed at the time. But no, 85 and still going.
-
Ah, speaking as a Glaswegian, she doesn't need to come to Glasgow if she doesn't want. When Tony Benn had to cancel an event up here, nobody thought "That bastard!" Ok, he was 88, and dying, and actually my gran thought that, so this analogy dies on its arse. Anyhow, it's not someone's fault if their fandom puts them on a pedestal.

Another profile of her cancer battle. Key info not mentioned before is that her cancer is now stage four, with tumors present in her lungs, liver, and lymph nodes... With the way the year has panned out, could wind up being another "fortune favours the brave TJS while other deadpoolers elected to wait a year" moment.

That one was right too then.

Theres a recent photo of Mr Mair in the latest Radio Times where he looks much healthier. Short of further evidence, I'm guessing the BBC news website just put up one where he looked rough. It happens to us all, by which I mean the dodgy photos and not promotion by the Beeb. He writes about celebrity Death fairly regularly in the Radio Times too. Ok, maybe one or twice in the last year, but enough for it to stick out.

Becoming a more common thing, social media reporting a death days/weeks before the papers. On that note, apparently Ken Barrie (Postman Pat narrator) has died too, according to credible folk on social media, but no media sources.

I wouldn't worry, Biblio. There are five months left, and a fair amount of low lying fruit as people put it. June 2015, December 2013, July 2007 are all examples of 4-5 people going in the one month, and September 2003 and March 2002 are good examples of 4 people going in the one week. We're never consistent on the when, but by December 31st the 2016 list will be on 10-14 hits like usual. As for looking grim...Havelange, MT Moore (no news lately), van der Westhuizen, Scales, Vera Lynn (allegedly in frail health), Leslie Philips, Pirsig (according to fellow forumers), Glen Campbell, Greaves, Banks, Noakes seem to be. And that's not counting the ancient, who are a good source of Deathlist success.

Perhaps, but mostly, he's an alcoholic.
