I thought he was referring to a Chris Morris stunt but my dates might be off.

Because I am nice, I'll bullet point it in detail: 1. Go to Google. 2. Type "Name of Celebrity" first. 3. Then type site:ddpqualifyingobitnewssource.com 4. For example, "Adam Yauch" site:dailymail.co.uk 5. Then, if you limit your search to say, a year, and see any google results on the first two pages of "Adam Yauch gravely ill from all the cancers" or even "Adam Yauch, he's quite cool, you know: An article by a navel gazing idiot" or the like, then you can be assured your man will get a qualifying obit. I know Yauch is fucking dead already, it's just an example. 6. I'm sure if you run your picks through this method, you'll see at least 90% are covered. 7. Here are the sites to check over, taken from The Man in Black's already taking the effort to type them all out: bbc.co.uk/news bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts bbc.co.uk/news/business bbc.co.uk/news/education bbc.co.uk/news/uk (that's UK in general, not it's component parts - Scotland, Wales, NI etc) bbc.co.uk/news/world bbc.co.uk/sport bbc.co.uk/newsbeat bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics bbc.co.uk/news/magazine *This excludes local news pages on the website. Or from the UK versions of the following: telegraph.co.uk thetimes.co.uk ft.com theguardian.com independent.co.uk dailymail.co.uk express.co.uk dailystar.co.uk thesun.co.uk mirror.co.uk morningstaronline.co.uk (this includes those on the death announcements section of broadsheet websites) ...or from these news sites: uk.reuters.com news.sky.com/uk skysports.com itv.com/news (this also excludes local news pages) channel4.com/news 8. If you can't find any mention of a pick on one of those, at this close to the new year, its a judgment call. If all goes well, they might nab an obit, but then, as I said before, the folk who struggle to gain obits, nine times out of ten, struggle to get obits in America too. 9. Being American doesn't stop you - many of the past winners have been American, and in fact, I believe Death Impends is too, and he only looks to have lost this year due to some well considered picks having miraculous death bed recoveries.

Tennis coach Darren Tandy did have a spot on the 2016 Pan Breed team. He doesn't anymore. Obit, eventually, should be guaranteed as he was James Ward's coach.

Yeah, after all, Aherne and Alagiah were 50/50 punts people went with, but few would pick them again this year. I won't say no one will, because lots of folk still went for Wilko Johnson this year!

Looking over DDT's survivors: Dignam's in remission, Clive James is still writing, Chuck Blazer was claiming to be on the mend, Clive Derby-Lewis is "doing fine" and enjoying Christmas, Ed Drummond is already dead/doesn't exist/who knows?, Leo Scullion is meant to be doing better, Jacques Villeneueve was a con, and the Belgian murderer a gamble which sadly didn't pay off. Which leaves us with Martin Crowe (who feels more Sam Simon 2014, to be honest), and the Samsung chap. Crowe and Granger seem too healthy to go in the next week, so I think time has run out for Death Impends' chances.

"Nothing in the Dark" was great, from his Twilight Zone offerings.
-
But I don't see people holding back much. SC I refer you to Spade and DDT's teams in one weeks time.
-
Blimey, that's practically doing an Inzaghi on the DDP.
-
At least its mostly the cultural osmosis picks (ie the ones most people will have) that are being shared. It'd be more annoying if one had announced, say, picking one at random, someone like Danny Kirwan having stage 4 cancer. *innocent face*

Sorry to hear about your loss.

So, How's Your 2016 Shortlist Looking?
msc replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Got a shortlist of 30 currently, cutting one or two folk a day, adding on any sudden terminal cases I stumble across. As my tactics before have consisted of "Well, so and so's getting on a bit", the actual looking into it is a bit new to me. Most of the folk I thought would be certs have been whittled off the list though - people keep getting healthier! This includes my proposed joker at one point, who went from dead cert to suspected attention seeker in my mind some time ago. One person who hasn't shown up on my shortlist at all is Kris Travis. He's almost certainly going to die (though his twitter is rather chirpy for a man likely dead by Summerslam) but, in accordance with me and Death Impends chat on the matter earlier in the year, I don't want to pick someone else's unique pick, even if others will. It's bloody annoying when it happens to you (see Derek Martinus, which was worse as I handed an unique to someone else!). -
Think of it as Corrie or Eastenders with less fights. I'm not a fan of soaps, but I can see why they're so addictive to those who are.

I remember hating Playaway but my sister loved it and so did my parents! Julie Stevens was a 'proper actress before going into kids TV, 79 years young now and Toni Arthur is 74. If there is anybody out there that could do somesort of recce to find out how many of those Playschool/ Playaway presenters are still around........... I used to love Play Away. I was about to say that there doesn't seem to be much of on YouTube, turns out the vast majority of episodes were wiped. Chap who was the archivist in the early 90s decided to wipe considerable amounts of kids TV on a whim, some of which only survives now due to people taping it at the time.

My daughter is the first member of her family (going back as far as we have records) to ever meet all four grandparents.
-
My great gran died in her 90s when I was ten. I remember her well, she was a big fan of pro-wrestling and The Simpsons! She was apparently quite a force of nature in her younger years but she was quite a quiet, cheery (and deaf!) old lady in my lifetime.

Is that a person who pretends to be a songwriter? I like it, I'll take this Pierre. SC No, its a decomposer. I'm so sorry.

*Arrives late to thread *Sees joke has been driven into the ground. As you were, folks.
-
Interesting covers? Can't think what you mean.
-
If he is, it just saves the Reaper making a new thread.

Bit early to reveal main teams, no? Not I expect any of those names on my own radar to be unique, mind you! I could easily see many of those falling before Christmas 2016 though - could easily push past the 60 point margin if the cards all fall in your favour.

He was exterminated by The Daleks on Doctor Who once.
-
It doesn't change anything at the top, but slightly further down - 35th place now? I'll be in danger of altitude sickness at this rate!
-
He was the main villain in one of the biggest selling film franchises of all time. I'd say that made him a-list in his time. Vader was but a footnote to his career highlight, as a minotaur in a dreadful episode of Dr Who.
-
Poor David Prowse is practically A-list next to some others on that list!

I'd vaguely heard of her, though the song annoys me. I don't see the issue though: 99% of rappers mentioned on this forum are obscure as hell to me and you don't see me complaining.
