Yeah, its all over twitter. One of the "pantheon of goddesses", apparently, according to one tweet.

    Derby Dead Pool 2016

What is the done thing for entering theme teams? Do we enter them in the same email as the main team, or individual emails? The rules suggest the same email, but I'm sure I've read on here the latter at some point (not that the search engine is being any use), so thought I'd check.

    Wrestlers/actors

Someone was mentioning him to me only yesterday, about how mad it was Hack was only in his early 20s in ECW as he looked ancient. Had heard he needed emergency surgery, but he was never going to get a qualifying obit.

Which of them "aren't even famous"?

    Sean Connery

He didn't do any promotional stuff for the SNP during the Indy Ref. Take that for what it's worth. Mind you, that could be because he recognises "old", "frail" and "sex symbol" don't mix.
  7. 2016's Ray Price. How did that turn out again? Oh yes.

    Derby Dead Pool 2015

Where? I know I asked silly stuff before. But if there is a page apart from this site I dunno nuttin 'bout it. SC The rules. The main DDP page.

    Derby Dead Pool 2015

I thought it'd be like that one that got taken out of the game. I can't mind what team had her to check it now though.

    The Dead Of 2015

    Aye, sad news indeed.

    Val Kilmer

He's also got that pumped up steroidy look. Bears a passing resemblence to Piers Brosnan now, or is it just me? Sods law, he's either going to be one of these huge misses due to end stage throat and brain cancer, or one a lot of folk pick (ala Aretha in 2011) who turns out to have utterly treatable things wrong. Short of a public announcement before Hogmanay, he doesn't feel worth the risk to me.

    Derby Dead Pool 2015

Much as I might bemoan the cull of the Scottish papers, I think it is very good of TMIB to continue hosting the DDP for us all, especially when he wanted to step down before. (Heaven knows I've not got the time or ability to run the show!) So, with that in mind, if these are the rules he puts forward to make the game easier to run (or less hassle in general), I support them.

    Fort William Football Club

I had a look and didn't see anyone mentioned Fort's little issue in the summer. They've responded better than teams with much more money however: use of portacabins for changing rooms, etc. I've also learnt that Claggan Park apparently has a beer garden bordering it which is easily accessible from the ground and vice versa, and which is very popular with fans. Fort took on Turriff on Wednesday and played them to a creditable 9-0 defeat. Weather permitting, they take on Cove Rangers this coming Tuesday, which is a great opportunity to beat that scoreline.
  14. Hmmm, well there was one person who was diagnosed with pancreatic C about Dec 2014, who hasn't been mentioned here and I certainly didn't expose the name. We may be talking same person, maybe not. Only two clues: SHE is an AMERICAN. I used her as an alternative in one DP. I joined two pools that required 3 alternative names, and of the 6 people I used as alternatives, 4 have died (Molinaro, Mankell, Nimoy, Kerkorian). I need to have better judgement! SC PS: I scolded many for choosing Aherne in 2015 cuz her condition just didn't point to it. It looked like a 3-year adventure to me, given her prognosis and diagnosis. So this is the first year IMHO to 'think' about her, and 2017 she seems a solid pick. Means she's dead by Sunday. Different person. And I've scolded myself, especially as I picked her over Richie Benaud!
  15. I've knocked down the shortlist from a scary number (that list from the other week wasn't even a 1/5th of it!) to around 50. Then it'll be a matter of which ones seem most ill on December 30th. And who gets bumped off the list by the post-Christmas celebrity moving into a hospice with end stage pancreatic cancer. There is a person (who I don't expect to be unique but I won't name them anyway just in case), who was the first name on the shortlist this year, as they announced in January they had terminal cancer. Would probably get a BBC obit, and hasn't been mentioned on here at all yet, but I'm unsure how terminal their terminal cancer is. They've not exactly shortened their workload yet! Several survivors from 2015 are getting the ax: Caroline Aherne Asa Briggs Seumas Milne (I fell foul of a con trick by a journalist pal - is there no ethics in deadpooling? ) Ryuichi Sakamoto Peter Sallis Vojislav Seselj Peter Sutcliffe Jacques Villeneuve Sr Mary Wilson Given previous form, that's the kiss of death to some of the above.

    Bruce Forsyth

or not Pulls out for health reasons but does hope to appear in the 2017 Deathlist Abdominal aortic aneurysms have a 40% mortality rate ,and if they can get treated before rupture, a 5% and below mortality rate! I'd say "he should be ok", but then, we don't know the type, size or what happened prior to his surgery.

New Here And Just Saying Hello

One of the first things I ever saw on this forum was the Albert Hofmann thread. This was soon after he died. This post appealed to my sense of humour, so I read it aloud to my wife. Next day, I found she'd printed it off, and it was taped to the fridge! That got a few laughs, though, when asked, it came "from somewhere online". That was nearly eight years ago - this site never lets you go.

    By-Election Bingo

So tomorrow is the Oldham West by-election. Oldham West is bordered by six constituencies. Three of them (Manchester Central, Oldham East and Heywood and Middleton) have had by-elections in the last 5 years. Therefore I suggest Simon Danczuk (Rochdale), Angela Rayner (Ashton-under-Lyme) and Graham Stringer (Blackley and Broughton) should be careful.

Whilst Gerald Kaufman looked a bit doddery, David "The Ghost" Winnick is looking livelier here than he has in some time.

    Derby Dead Pool 2015

I immediately thought of a political minded person there, but he's had coverage down south, and is probably more of a pick for 2017 onwards, short of complications. Are they keen on mountain climbing in their spare time? I think so, though they wont be doing that anytime soon.

Thoughts 1. Would any of the hits who got BBC qualifying hits this year have not qualified with this rule change? 2. Poor The Herald.

    28 Years Of The Deathlist!

Most of which have probably been from me I imagine. Quite possibly! I remember the big press reaction to Peter Cushing's death (as he has been Doctor Who in the films) but the first celebrity death I really recall for someone I knew on the TV regularly was Roy Castle.

    28 Years Of The Deathlist!

Showing my own age, perhaps, but I only know of Ted Moult due to his references on here over the years.
