Who Should Be On The 2016 Deathlist?

Whilst I agree with a few of those outright, Lamotta has been on every single Deathlist since 2004 and Castro has raked up 4 straight appearances and 12 in total so I only see one way in which both will leave the list. They seem to keep the long timers on now, after missing out on Patrick Moore. I could see Eddie Large and Ken Kercheval appearing in the great list of "one time only" Deathlist candidates, like Peter Tork.

    Rob Ford

It has been a hell of a rise in no time at all. 2010 - elected 2013 - scandals which bring him to a world audience 2014 - cancer, resigns 2015 - cancer spreads 2016 - dies He's basically fit a political career of 25-30 years into about three or four years, there.

Who Should Be On The 2016 Deathlist?

He had a minor heart op last year. Reading news in autograph hunting circles, he was replying to fanmail in January, but by April this year he was "unable to accept autograph requests any longer". This chimes with rumours a while ago on Twitter he was in poor health, and the Daily Mails report from May that Glenn had suffered a minor stroke. I wouldn't exactly jump him ahead of the queue, though. [That said, there's smoke enough that he'd warrant a spot more than, say, Charles Aznavour.]

    Political Frailty

Yeah, I admit to having been quite shocked to see how badly she appears to have deteriorated within the last year. Whereas Tebbit looked like the kind of creature Peter Cushing hunted down in the 1980s, and still does today. Indeed very sad to watch.Of course it is possible she just has an infection and didn`t want to miss the vote as it was an important one.She looked like she was going to burst into tears which is unusual for her as she is normally very calm and collected.I definitely will include her on my DD entry next year. She just has an awful look about her even if you discount the oxygen mask. She looks skeletal and a bout of pneumonia over the Winter could easily see her off.I saw someone die from emphysema and they had the same look of fear and desperation on their face and that was very near the end. It reminded me of Tony Newton. During his final few weeks alive, he gave a speech against the welfare reforms in the Lords with the aide of an oxygen cylinder.

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?

Deathlist years by number of hits (updated) 1. 2008 (14/50), 2003 (14/50) 2. 2013 (13/50), 2006 (13/50) 3. 2015 (12/50), 2012 (12/50), 2009 (12/50), 2005 (12/50), 2004 (12/50) 4. 2014 (10/50), 2007 (10/50), 2002 (10/50), 2001 (10/50), 2000 (10/50), 1999 (10/50) 5. 2010 (9/50), 1997 (9/50), 1995 (9/50), 1994 (9/50) 6. 1998 (8/50) 7. 2011 (7/50), 1996 (7/50) 8. 1993 (5/56), 1992 (5/37) 9. 1990 (3/42), 1989 (3/32) 10. 1987 (1/31) 11. 1991 (0/40) Into the podium spots, admittedly in shared position. However, Maureen O'Hara was another case of an old person going rather than someone known for being ill, so Deathlist 2015 is now 75% held up by people not waking up one day. Now, the omens are 50/50 from this point on. Every single of the 12/50 Deathlists had a hit after 27th October. 2004 and 2012's hit rate in the last two months would break the record if seen this year. 2009 and 2005 wouldn't. Looking at the 2nd place years, 2006 had 5 hits after this point and 2013 had 4 hits. For completeness sakes, 2008 had 2 hits after this date, and 2003 had none at all! So, there is nearly an unanimous precedent that lists that get to this level tend to have at least one more hit in them. And yet, looking at the data, we're still way below on the terminal cases. My guess, as it stands, is that Martin Crowe is unlikely to see out the year, to take us to thirteen. Then, it becomes a matter of the luck of the old, as they say.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

You never know when someone will sagely go "Hmm, George Lazenby, eh?". Or Scott Thorson. I just googled him to see if he was still alive, and found out he's apparently in prison.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

Are they all going to mark the start line, Rene Angeli might be a marginal bet to see Christmas, let alone dead pool action in 2016 Aye, Rene is one of those that's on the shortlist purely for logistic reasons: if still alive on January 1st, it'd be foolish to leave him off, but I fully expect him to be dead long before. See also Martin Crowe and a terminally ill writer not yet mentioned on the forums I'm hoping might be a unique pick.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

The top four I would certainly half-expect on the 2016 list. Booth was still able to give interviews this year, which suggests his dementia is still quite slow acting. Dexter may show up on the list in about five years time if still about, I think: crime novelists have shown up before, but PD James had to wait till 91 for her debut. My suspicions, though I could be wrong, are that Angelil, Stewart and Hollingworth aren't really Deathlist committee type picks. Even then, I was surprised they went for Chris Woodhead, so who knows? If they are on an MND trend, they might go for Fernando Ricksen. If they went for Eddie Large, they might well plump for Jim Bowen, who was already rumoured to be quite frail before yet another nasty stroke this summer. For actors of a certain vintage who happen to be getting old, Robert Hardy or Peter Vaughan feel highly Deathlist eligible picks.

    Ask A Deathlister

Yes, it was. Boothby was a Tory, and a bit of a scoundrel, but I'll always admire his gall for the time he was introduced to Hitler, and when everyone around the table did the Hitler Salute, complete with "Heil Hitler!", Boothby paused a second, then did the salute complete with a loud "Heil Boothby!"

    2015 DDP Salvage Lot

    1. That's SIR Peter to you. 2. Now 81, his cancer has returned. SC http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3268848/Royal-composer-s-cancer-returns-Queen-s-former-Master-Music-reveals-needs-new-round-chemotherapy-leukaemia-comes-back.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 He's been on several shortlists for a while. Iirc, when he gained more time in 2013, he had to go on a cocktail of drugs that "held back" his cancer, and there was always the likelihood they would only keep the cancer (which is a particularly virulent strain of leukemia) at bay for so long.
