My lot once went 2-0 down, fought back to equalise in injury time, then immediately lost to an own goal. There was another - horrible - day against Gretna when they managed to concede three goals in about as many minutes.

Or NOTSChttp://m.richmond.com/news/latest-news/ap/article_2307d3aa-bb5d-545f-819a-5f8d0aacd2ef.html?mode=jqm It may just be me, but I'm not convinced. He said he is still awaiting results, yet confident that he doesn't have a tumour. But why would his publicist mention a tumour if one is not suspected by his physicians?Earlier reports mentioned that he refused to see a doctor until it was apparent that he has a serious health issue. I guess it could also be a feeble attempt to get rid of the paparazzi following him. I took a walk down your Path Of Doubt this year but in the other direction. I'm still having EXTREME doubts as to the veracity of medical claims re: Wilco Johnson (3 months to live pancreatic cancer) and Valerie Harper (3-4 months to live brain cancer). Virtually no one comes back from those two diagnosis, ESPECIALLY brain cancer. I'm ready to state that without a publicized medical record I have doubts they ever had cancer 'to the degree' as reported. Now I know your next question--why would they do that? I dunno, but forgotten Harper has a new show she's appearing on all of the sudden, after doing the talk show circuit. As for Kilmer, would his publicist have exaggerated his medical condition? We do to know. Did the publicists for Wilco and Valerie? Sir C Dodgy ground because - in defence of these people - there's a commercial downside to cancer-ridden creatives because their work often demands they are insurable (so the millions invested in movies, tours etc. are protected), so it wouldn't be fully in their interests to make this stuff up. In terms of pancreatic, Swayze was given "weeks" to live back in very early 2008 and held on nearly two years. Sods law is, he seemed to have the type like Wilko's they could have got with this new surgery but they didn't have it back then. That's life for you. People also in tune to the vagaries of health decline. Who thought Zsa Zsa would last so long? And then people you think might have fight in them, like Smokin' Joe Frazier (or 2012 DDP joker favourite that never was, Philip Gould), go within days of the announcement.

We have a list (somewhere) of living Thatcher government types. I was wondering who was still around from governments before Thatcher. Which was the genesis of this small list. Surviving members of the UK government from 1951-79. There's a lot of crossover between them, so I just listed them under their PM, with their year of birth and notable jobs for ease of access. Best job title so far is "Comptroller of the Household", which sounds made up, but is apparently an important government dogsbody role. It was Geraldine McEwan, no?

Yes, lets all guess which of the 50 has a birthday during the year. Goodness, for the 28th time in a row, everyone on the list has a birthday. Full marks.

There's no suggestion that Leon Brittan was a pedo.He just (maybe) tried to cover up a load of other pedos crimes that's all There is such a suggestion, and one newspaper was going that way in the eighties before a story was crushed. There's no agreed proof. Re Glitter, the crimes are dodgy and the victims were young at the time, and we're taking child abuse more seriously than we did then. But, realistically, he could be looking at a few years, not ten, and if you cut that in half, he's still a free man in his mid-seventies. His deafness may be a bonus because in a cushy unit for sex offenders the worst attack most some offenders suffer is loud and constant verbal abuse. He'll just leave his hearing aids turned off. Re: Brittan, we know that he was being investigated in recent times for suspicion, at the very least.

Confirmed. Ralf Little adds his two-penn'orth. The usual tact and empathy of The Sun was in full-force on the front page today, reading: "I leapt in front of a lorry hoping to die" S'cuse the pedantry but...reading that commaless headline, I'm wondering why the lorry wanted to die. It was worn out by the trudge and grind of the road rat race, clearly.

Totally agree, I've been sneaking her onto the odd team over the years, but she's so old now that she's in the orbit of everyone. Speaking of Wilson, someone who might appear in the orbit of others before time is Lady Falkender, aka Marcia Williams, who is still with us. 83 this year and will be, in time, highly obitable.

Churchill's biography writer and noted historian, Sir Martin Gilbert dead.

At a guess, 22nd December 2042, about 7.40 in the evening. Give or take a few minutes.
-
I'll just stick to plain old Pan Breed. Its so simple even my non-existent memory can recall it, and it accurately describes what I'll be at some point in the next six decades.
-
He looked like a bloody ghost at Ibrox. I'll be shocked if he's still breathing in 2016.
-
I don't get the revulsion towards wrestling. I mean, cricket and F1 aren't my thing, but I know lots of folk on here enjoy one or the other, so more power to them.
-
You could add John Noakes (Blue Peter) to that list. I didn't realize until just now that he turned 80 last May. You mean we could "Go With Noakes". Well, he did look...tired on Pointless last year.

I've suggested her a few times, but since she's still alive I guess the committee have been wise to leave her off the list. Putting her on for next year might be a good option. come the fuck off it... We're really Foray-ing into obscuro territory with voice actresses aren't we? What is it with Disney fans around here. Just my opinion anyway Not entirely obscure, she was the voice of Rocky the Squirrel from Rocky & Bulwinkle, and also Jokey Smurf. I'm far from being a "Disney Fan" as you put it. They're just a notable name and sure to get an obit. While we're on the subject of voice actors, William Woodson might be worth going on the list. He narrated the mini-series The Winds of War. No way man we can't put him on, that hit would crash the server! So basically you're implying that if you've never heard of them, they don't count as a viable suggestion. Not everyone on the list has to be a house-hold name. They just need to be known in their field to qualify for an obit. For the main Deathlist I think there needs to be a fair degre of noteworthyness. People are free to play obit Russian roulette with their DDP picks but I would expect someone on the main list to be UK obit worthy without a doubt. Those that I have never heard off are not automatically bad picks but I then research them and then decide. When Sam Simon was first discussed on this forum I thought he was someone really obscure but I have been won round. Still not sure about Jake Roberts though. LOL, fucks sake man. Yes people do know who he is/was. If it's a bad pick it's because he's actually fairly okay. He's definitely in much better shape now than he was shortly after Stone Cold Steve Austin beat his ass down in the final of the 1996 King of the Ring! Helpful pic included to demonstrate: (WTF... Austin actually looks more like Goldberg there for some reason. He had a cut in his mouth so he looks a bit retarded or something) Wrestling: - This is an area that is completely off my radar. I do not watch it and have no interest in it. However unlike other topics which I have no interest, soaps, sport, ballet etc, it does not receive coverage in the mainstream UK press therefore I cannot see picks like Jake Roberts in the same way as someone like JvdW. If he dies during the year fine good call by the committee but I would prefer to see that place taken by someone else.... Peter Sutcliffe maybe? The Sun cover everyone from Oliver Humperdink to Ox Baker. Jake would get a qualifying obit. Plus, as previously mentioned, hes a recovering drug addict who was in coma for a bit last year with pneumonia, and is on his 2nd (or 3rd) bout of cancer in 12 months.
-
Thats a shame, friend of a friend and seemingly a nice guy. Good innings though.
-
According to Saraya Knight, Drew McDonald, the Highlander from Hell, has an unannounced form of cancer. As a World of Sport alumni who was involved in the FWA revival with Talksport in the early part of last decade, I think he'd sneak an obit.
-
Reminds me of the Spitting Image sketch with the Queen puppet singing I Will Survive: "As long as Charles's next in line, I've got to stay alive..."
-
Younger than most of the replies on this page, but older than Windsor apparently, which surprises me. Mind you, you are only as old as you feel, which in my case, would make me 952.

RIP Barrie Ingham, a fine actor, but known to a generation of kids as the voice of Basil, the Great Mouse Detective in the Disney film.
-
Well, someone in that article was certainly close to death.
-
oh well, it's a hit for 7 teams on the DDP. I had no idea he had been diagnosed with cancer. Why I didn't go with my gut feeling on this I have no idea. Highly convenient exit, this.

Providing its not a fake account, Karen Lewis is the daughter-in-law of Richard Attenborough and Sheila Sim, so a safe enough source I'd say.

1 - The blogger managed to explain how someone - like him - who knows so much is still allowed to live. Reminds me of Jim Marrs, the guy who wrote the book (lots of conspiracy books, in fact) claiming over 100 people who knew the truth about the JFK assassination were murdered. So, assuming that was true, this global conspiracy bumped off Mafia leaders and world politicians, but leaves some nut writer untouched for 20 years? They must sign up the worst hitmen possible.
