    Professional Cyclists

List of the Missed! Picked last year, not this year, by looks of it? Genuinely surprised.
  2. Yeah, I listened to the ones I couldn't put a tune to on YouTube. Usually quickly followed by "Oh christ, not that one..."

    Professional Cyclists

First Briton to win Tour de France stage Brian Robinson dies at age of 91 (yahoo.com) Confirmed (with QO). Nearly (a week off) a decade to the day another British cycling legend, Tommy Godwin, died at the same age.

    FIFA World Cup Players

Omar Borras, who as Uruguay manager in 1986 coined the "Group of Death" moniker, has died aged 93. This happened last week, @Octopus of Odstock, but a quick forum search suggested it hadn't been mentioned yet. All Scotland had to do was beat his ten-man side. Sigh.

    Alex Ferguson

Fergie's famous racehorse, Rock of Gibraltar, has died aged 23.

    Dead Pop Stars

It's cancer time and not one minute she can lose?
  8. I mean, there is a lot to like about Harrison's output (more than Lennon, less than Macca imo*) and that album (All Things Must Pass) is great. But the number one single off it is one of the lesser tracks on the thing, for me at least. *tbf, Paul McCartney has written about twenty billion songs since 1962.

  10. At least people get my Simpsons references these days. The first time I tried the "upgraded to a better hospital" gag, someone thought I was referencing the US health care system!
  11. "It's November 24th, the Tory MPs are voting on two candidates to be the next Prime Minister, Penny Mordaunt, or an inanimate carbon rod. And the carbon rod has won!"

    Tom Baker

Via Chibnall and fan gossip, Tom was invited to take part in the latest Dr Who story (filmed last year) but wasn't up to it physically at the time.

The acoustics in that room aren't great, but it's yer Michael Jayston and Colin Baker at a fan event yesterday.
  14. 100 MPs to get on the ballot. So if there's 2, and the second doesn't pull out, it goes to the membership.

    Derby Dead Pool 2022

So far, I have avoided temptation of picking former German football manager Otto Pfister on the same grounds.

    William Russell

No idea when it was filmed, looked a while ago, but surprised and delighted to see a TV legend make one more appearance like that.

    Robbie Coltrane

Cause of death was a combination of obesity, heart failure, sepsis, diabetes, multiple organ failure, and a respiratory infection. Practically a full bingo card.

Out of respect for the guy just dying I wasn't going to mention how shite those episodes were!

    Boris Johnson

Churchill's big return was to the cabinet after a decade out in the cold. Also because he was blatantly the right man at the right time. Johnsons proposed big return would come after six weeks of sunning himself after being ousted.
  22. None of Led Zeppelin's songs were released as singles in the UK until 1997, at the bands request. (It boosted their gig and album revenue considerably, apparently.0

  24. Well, they would back down. No They'll quit their ground They'll be turned around To keep the voters from draggin' them down Gonna quit their frown And they will back down (Apologies to Tom Petty)
  25. As an apparent millennial too, I agree on Love Grows and also love Slade. Can't agree with the Spirit in the Sky hate though, it's a hilariously daft song imo. I don't actually mind Grandad or Ernie. Both are simple novelty tracks, inoffensive fluff. The Mungo Jerry dislike really surprises me though. Anyhow this round is quite light next to the horrors of 1972-73 - who was the bigger stain on the charts - Gary Glitter, or the fucking Osmonds? @YoungWillz I'd guess via PM your top 4 picks but last I checked your PM box was full!
