    Jimmy Carter

I chose my years carefully, remembering well from school the inter-war French capacity for changing leaders more often than seasons! We never heard to remember all the sods though.

    Jimmy Carter

Explanation: In the years between 1974 and 2007, France had three Presidents - Giscard d'estaing, Mitterand and Chirac, all of whom are dead and were DL hits. In the same period of time, the US had: Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, and Bush Jr. Your country was too stable, basically.

Trump and Clinton I both expect to snuff it with very little warning at some point in the next decade or so. Clinton is what LBJ would be if he'd tried to take care of his health in the 1970s, and Trump takes less care of his health than a Glasgow addict. Bush Jr seems in reasonably good nick for his age, barring future illnesses (I do remember when Paul Newman seemed like the healthiest 70 year old in town) - I think he's around for a while yet. Biden's longevity depends on if he retires in January 2025 or not. He could easily go into a quiet long decline and wrack up the years. Even if Obama died young-ish, we're still talking not for another fifteen years plus imo. Once Jimmy Carter goes, it's a fight between Donald and Billy Boy to be next to go, I think.

Lynda Bellingham was the second Helen in All Creatures. Carol Drinkwater and Christopher Timothy (last seen on TV looking rough after a tough battle with cancer, btw) had a lot of chemistry together as an onscreen couple. So much chemistry, in fact, that Timothy's first marriage broke up, and Drinkwater was re-cast when the show returned!

    Queen Elizabeth II

Ah Craig, what a lovely chap he was, an awful tragedy. No matter his own troubles, if he heard someone he knew had problems, he'd be right there with emails full of advice and jokes and other help.

    The Dead of 2022

I need to listen to my own tips more often. Though, Clorox posted the same thing before more. @Clorox Bleachman I need to pay more attention to your own tips!
  8. In theory, yes. In actuality, Brits dont tend to sign government petitions these days, here are the most signed ones not destroyed. And about 6 million people signed the 2nd ref petition, only for the government to announce they didn't see petitions as democratic, so you know, a million odd on another will do about the same. This lot will hang on till the bitter end of this parliament. If folk want rid of them, they'll just need to vote then in 2024-ish and not give them another final chance.

It's probably down to his notoriously good health before that stroke that he's survived so long, but yeah, DL name in 2023 for sure imo.

Greater chance of crems nuclear war happening.
  11. Maybe if they had a few more Charles Walkers and considerably fewer of the cabinet. But they don't.

    Tom Baker

Aye, he's not up to what he was five years ago, but compare him to most former boozehounds at that age! Did you ever hear the late great Barry Letts comment on Baker from about fifteen years ago? "Tom is the only man I know who, as he grows older, is slowly going sane!"

Who's Going To Be Around For A While?

It's from Enfield and Whitehouse's Story of the 2s, their 50th anniversary of BBC2 "tribute" from 2014. Can't find a copy online, but it's worth a watch if you find it.

    The Ukraine Crisis

My view is I'd be a lot more worried if he didn't keep bringing up the nukes. It sounds like a cornered bully threatening folk with that karate training they totally have and you'll be sorry. Those who have to talk up what a bad ass they are usually aren't. Those who talk up how much sex they get usually aren't getting any. Those who talk up nukes time and again have no intention of using them. And if I'm wrong, me, Clorox and Willz live so near to the nukes, none of us would notice.

    Who are the immortals?

Asked about his prospects he allegedly replied "surely a syphilitic teddy bear would be an improvement on the current guy?"
  17. I was delighted to hear that, despite the decades of evidence to the contrary, the IMF are in fact a lefty cabal! Mind you, Andrew Lillico was probably confused "the IMF, the KLF, it's a 50/50 choice, one of them is left-wing!" Not to claim Liz Truss is a walking fucking disaster zone, but she's done an interview this morning and not understood her own energy cap.

    Joe Biden

He's clearly not the same man he once was, but then, he is 80. Even Dianne Feinstein showed mental decline in her 80s, and all she's done for 40 years is sit in a comfy chair and bark orders at people! The Biden Presidency all but admits this - look at how quickly they're trying to get stuff done - infrastructure, green energy, jobs, protections we take for granted in the UK - all at once, because it's a 4 year tenure, not an 8 year one. Which so far has worked - Biden's managed to get more of his plans passed through the Senate than any democrat since LBJ? FDR? A long time anyhow. But...the problem is, that Democrats seemed to buy into the Hilary Clinton or bust idea for so long, they never built up any potential challengers. So she sunk, and they're a bit like Labour in 2010 - where's the contenders? (No, Bernie Sanders is 81, he's not the answer, sorry fans.) This is of course why Biden came out of retirement in 2020, as the only popular name who could beat Trump. He'll retire into the sunset in January 2025 and tbf he's earned it. i don't know who they've got to replace him, though.
  19. I can't mind which MP yours is again, but I see they can communicate in fluent shite.

He was on the BBC talking about her on the day of the funeral (voice only) but it may have been pre-recorded.

Radovan Radakovic, who among many teams as a player and manager was the goalie of the Partizan Belgrade side that qualified for the CL in 2003 (beating Newcastle United!), dead at 52. Showing you all how on top of news I am right now, I just found out Radakovic had died, from Hulka's email telling me someone on my Alt Obits team had died.

    Peter Tobin

He is a serial child rapist and killer, convicted of several murders but believed to be responsible for several cold cases over the last 60 years. He was likely responsible for at least one of the Bible John murders in the 1960s, one of Scotland's most notorious unsolved murder cases. He also has a record of trying to frame others from his crimes, of admitting he killed more people but refusing to say who, and of faking health issues to troll the surviving families of his victims. In words I never use, he is a legitimately evil person, and can't die soon enough.
