  1. Voted. Which for anyone not voting Tory today might be like the old King Canute and the sea, but never mind.

    Political Frailty

Aye, maybe so, but I remember a few years back folk were mocking right winger Bob Novak for "not seeing a pedestrian" - only it turned out he didnt see him because he had fatal brain cancer.

    Political Frailty

Just imagine one of our US pals, not aware of UK politics, stumbling across that last description for Ashcroft! # He has bouts of lousy health and a crippling allergic reaction to tax.

    Political Frailty

Not a fan of hers, but perhaps steady up on the piss taking till we know its just her being Diane Abbott and not, like, full on dementia or what not?

    That Portillo Moment

Clegg will be safe as houses. Labour vote over inflated last time due to a number of conditions which don't exist now in Hallam. As I think there will be a Tory majority of c 140-160, there will be a number of Labour defeats. Which would put Liz Kendall and Tom Watson at risk, especially if some folk with lesser majorities (Jess Philips) might survive due to Lib Dem vote crash in that seat.

    It's a piss take.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

Jimmy Tarbuck looks like fucking shit in those photos too. On the other hand, I wish I looked as good when 91 as June Whitfield appears to be!

    Donald J Trump

    He'll win, bigly.
  9. No. They used to call the Home Office the graveyard for political careers, but, on trying to think of a decent Home Sec in my lifetime, it might be the case that its just given to shit politicians. I mean: Alan Johnson, Jacqui "porn videos" Smith, "Cabinet Bruiser" Dr John Reid, Charles Clarke (Christ he was shit), David Blunkett's dog, Michael Howard, David Waddington, Leon Brittan etc etc. When Jack Straw can possibly claim to be one of the top 3 anything of the last 40 odd years, you know we're not talking great quality.

    Political Frailty

Wont be, because Tories will win a landslide. In the impossible likelihood Corbyn won, she'd be replaced by any number of folk coming in from the cold.

    The Muppets (and other puppets)

Aww damn. I loved Bodger and Badger as a kid. ("Everybody knows Badger loves mashed potato!") Mum hated it though. Mind you, now I can't stuff like Mr Tumble. Circle of life.

Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

Luck of the draw - a fair few sides you'd have beat in that round iirc.

Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

I shall be aiming for a somewhat more famous clientele for YW's poker tournament. However, point stands. This dude is now former Everest mountaineer with cancer, rather than dude with cancer.

Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

Sort of disqualifying himself from the Only Famous for Dying club with behaviour like that!
  15. Only three parties have sent us post: Labour, SNP and UKIP. Liberals got crushed last time out, probably focusing on more winnable seats, say, Milngavie and Bearsden area.

    Political Frailty

Philip Gould died aged 60 of cancer too - the Blair associate. Stephen Gould the scientist died aged 50-ish, can't mind if it were cancer.

    Peter Sallis

Freddie Jones is still going at near 90 as we've mentioned before, but apparently so is Sheila Steafel (born 1935).
