    Olivia De Havilland

"Olivia de Havilland eaten by shark; Fontaine refuses to confirm shark worked for her"? She's on the list for the same reason Eli is - not particularly ill, but once you get their age, one day time runs out on you. So it goes.

    Mel Smith

No links as yet, but various folk who don't tend to report on rumours on Twitter (the ITV news producer for one) claim Mel Smith has died of a heart attack.

Yep, as the lyrics state: "Well, you wonder why I always dress in black, Why you never see bright colors on my back, And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone It's because I'm the Black Guardian, Turlough, you bastard!"

He did. And given Spade died nearly 50 years ago, I hope any octopi which happen to live in Odstock have their wills in order at the going rate. Well yes, it would have been odd if he hadn't talked about it (despite being deceased, obv) - but was he first with the news? Nah, that was Lewd Squirrel.

    FIFA World Cup Players

was that holland/portugal match when Grahame poll gave a player three yellow cards? Have to say 2006 is my favourite too , i remember people saying it was england's time and turned out to be same old story Nah, that was Croatia/Australia. The Portugal match was Valentin Ivanov refereeing.

    FIFA World Cup Players

I enjoyed 2006, it was the first World Cup I got to sit down and watch unfold. Most of the underdogs I got into crashed out very early, but I was backing the Italians from the start and was delighted they won. Also, first glimpses of the modern German side, some nice African play (but little reward, bar Ghana's last 16 appearance), some entertaining matches. And of course, the bonkers Holland/Portugal match with the 4 red cards and a million yellows: rarely have I cheered for an equaliser to give 30 more minutes of madness quite so much! 2002 probably has little going for it, but its too coated in nostalgia to properly judge here. 2010 started slowly, finished with a whimper, but when it got going from the 2nd round of group matches until the Semis when the two most entertaining sides left in the Cup crashed out, it was rather good. Despite Italy crashing out and a rather useless Portugal side advancing from their group.

    FIFA World Cup Players

2002 is the first tournament I really remember: in fact, seemingly as soon as I got into football, Scotland stopped qualifying for things. All the tournaments since then have had their merits and flaws.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2014

Cardiomyopathy is the fancy medical term for heart disease, so I'd assume heart disease brought on by a virus at an educated guess.

    The 8th Death Of 2013

Mandela is the odds on favourite here, but its time to level out the DL with one of the villains, I say, so I've gone for Nazi Priebke again.

    Coleman Falls?

About as eerie as the fact my grandfather attended his own dad's funeral, and then later died himself (fifty years later).

    The Dead Of 2013

and they always say the good die young . I'm sure there are more examples of good people living a very long time . Sir Nicholas Winton is still with us, and *touch wood* will be for a while to come. Bob Fletcher seems like a good man. RIP to him.

    Derby Dead Pool 2013

Ach, accidents happen. TMIB apologised. So it goes. I can understand why folk would be upset their emails were published en masse - all too well, in fact - but it can happen all too easily by accident (especially by tired editors pressing the wrong button at 4am, from experience!). It happens. Anyhow, deep breathes and all that. (Not a forum nice person.)

I wouldn't believe Superstar Billy Graham if he told me the sky was blue. Rev. Billy will go first, on account of being two decades older.

    Denis Healey

He takes me back to those long gone times of a Labour Government in the 70s and Franklin, the Sun newspapers cartoonist. Was it really that long ago? Who is the one in the middle meant to be? Possibly Merlyn Rees, Home Secretary under Wilson & Callaghan. Makes sense. That makes half the people in the cartoon still living - not bad for 34 years after Labour lost power. Less than half, actually. Only Benn and Healey are still alive... Maggie? You were saying? As I said before, less than half are alive, even. Reading the list of ex-MPs believed to be still with us - http://www.parliament.uk/briefing-papers/SN05324. Sure there was a few other pre-1955 MPs still kicking about but the last year or two seems to have snuffed them out.

    Famous Topiarists

Thanks Godot, I could have done with the chuckle this thread raised. Off-topic, as the only topiarist I know of was Edward Scissorhands...
