Reminder a while ago you pointed out to me that some of my Oldies/Dr Who team picks are blatantly only go to be hits if I pick them, like Dick Taverne for example. You have a fair few of these yourself! On another note, Lizzy Musi picked by two people, me and some randomer. Kathy Brown is on so few teams that if they weren't contenders I'd be worried.

Draper got 150 points, his final downturn was publicised after a number of people who might have picked him had already submitted. Bardot just missed by 4 points from Tom Lehrer, and your host gave Lehrer 10 points back in November which proved crucial at the end. In fairness, had I know my Lehrer points would be crucial I'd have given him far more.

It appears my dropping Tommy McGoran from the Oldies team late in December has made him unique for Jocks Away. Nice.

Well, a lot of our number play this game, and Gcreptile currently leads it on Day 3 after Thomas Monson (related to Gorilla, right?). Given the Rotten Dead Pool appears to have gone the way of the dodo, and this pool gets talked about a fair bit - I found it via DDT - I thought it could have its own thread? Where we cheer on any of our lot against the (nearly) unstoppable Mr Tierney and co. The points system is similar but different to the DDP, and their criteria is somewhat America, but it's all good fun. Home Page Standings Who's Dead so Far Deathlisters playing in 2018 include Gcreptile, deadsox, Joey, me, Jireomon, Death Impends, Toast, and others I don't immediately spot. In 2017, Deathlister JiroemonKimura won, ending the reign of terror of Gerard Tierney, who won the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 editions. Good luck everyone. PS We should have started this thread in December and swamped it with DDPers but hey, always 2019, right?

Slagging off Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac might be the most egregious thing I've seen on this forum in years (apart from all the Nazis). Piss off with that.

Scenes when William Russell winds up somehow surviving all of them.

It's genuinely a waste of life worrying about when the next big world war will or won't happen. If it does, it does. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Four years on, we are not at war with China last I checked. -
Leela is one of the greatest Doctor Who companions, played by the wonderful Louise Jameson (Tenko, Bergerac, RSC stuff). She was once called the most accomplished actress to play a Dr Who companion and tbh the only real argument is if you count Jean Marsh as a official companion or not imo!

Peston was rubbish this week even by his usual low standards. Berry was practically a living example of the This is Fine dog being asked about the government's problems. -
I'll be really boring and make that new sub Sven Goran Eriksson! (And I even googled it because even after 20+ years I can never remember if it is 2 k or 2 s in his surname without checking!)

Died yesterday apparently. Her friends are paying tribute on social media.

I was shocked my entire team got in first time. I can only assume it's shite!

He was nearly on my DDP team but not. Someone will have picked him.

I'm really sorry to hear this Drol. I liked hearing about his various recoveries over the years. Our deepest sympathy to you and your wife.

Wouldn't be the last stressed or self medicating person to suffer cardiac arrest in their fifties, which is how it sounds.

At some point soonish after the election. -
One of the greatest footballers of all time and his memoirs were vastly entertaining too. Nureyev tried to seduce him! RIP

You can count on me to join in and do badly. Though even you retiring from playing does not dissuade me of the fear I'll be gubbed by Reptile for what the 5th year in a row in the cup!

Glynis Johns died early but I always keep my oldies who survive as a tradition so it was going to happen one of those days. Jacques Delors also snuffed it after I put my team in, but luckily I had subs listed with my team. Annoyingly, there's rumblings elsewhere on this forum that my pick Oscar Quitak might have died in late December but not seen it confirmed yet.

Cooney got far closer to the Crowdsouced final 50 than I was comfortable with. Amanda fucking Bynes was in the top 20 until after Boxing Day too, thankfully both got swamped out by the regulars.

Have vague memories of a long time ago they tried to fix it and the website crashed?
