The venerable Earl of Airlie was on Radio 4 just now, talking about the Queen and - although lucid - sounded like he might die of old age during the interview. One to keep under observation. The last surviving attendee of the coronation of George VI apparently.

The Queen was a Twin Peaks fan according to Angelo Badalamenti

I hope I can still watch tonight's Veulta highlights on Quest.

Now so long, Marianne, it's time...

She sounded extremely unwell in tonight's episode and some of the dialogue was a bit swan-songy as well. Watch this space.

An article about the current state of death in the UK. Business appears to be booming, with the death rate up 12% in the last ten weeks.

Rab Wardell - won the Scottish mountain bike championship on Sunday, appeared on BBC Scotland's Nine show last night, then died in his sleep a few hours later, aged only 37.

Just been reading about the exploits of Sister Madonna Buder, known as the Iron Nun and still running in triathlons at the age of 92.

I was wondering if there is a list anywhere of living people who have had a death sentence commuted in the UK? I was reading about Liam Holden, still only 68, who was sentenced to death in 1973 (Northern Ireland abolished the death penalty shortly afterwards). Jersey and the Isle of Man were still giving out death sentences in the 1980s and there must be a few survivors of the 'pause' on executions in the 1960s from the UK mainland, but a definitive list isn't readily available so far as I can see, let alone who might still be alive.

I don't know, but over the last sixteen years I've had loads and never seem to learn from my own mistakes.

I struggled to think of the right thread for Rage Against The Machine tbh, but thought here would do. It's the heat; I can barely think -
I have limited interest in the contest, but is there any chance that either of these awful people will legalise cannabis?

David Crosby gets flamed on Twitter for bluntly telling a fan that his artwork sucks. No health news though.

What do YOU do to not die/age as slowly as possible?

I keep off crack, meth, opioids and sugar. -
I'm sure there are worse ways to meet your demise, but death by falling into a hay bale wrapping machine is a pretty grim fate to befall anyone.

He was brilliant as the agrophobic orchid enthusiast, Harold in Twin Peaks. Harold's Theme is a stunningly good bit of music from the soundtrack.

Hopefully they'll all be lined up and shot in the fullness of time. Meanwhile, Javid would be my choice, for the simple reason that he knows what it's like to be poor.

Wavy Gravy was interviewed on the Comes A Time podcast a few weeks ago and I was impressed by his recall of events. He had so many upcoming plans and dying didn't appear to be one of them. I didn't know he used to be roommates with Bob Dylan. Apparently they stay in touch by phone.
