Well that should keep him busy for a while yet! I hope he survives and prospers (especially as I dropped him from my 2010 DDP team after two years of woeful underpreformance) Typical! He's dead.

Condition now "extremely serious" ...
-
Looks like she's been re-admitted to hospital with "complications".

BBC Obit. Sort of. He'll get a proper one, so there's no need to fret, DDT... ....and here it is. Ah, good lad! That should put me back in the top ten. All I need now is for Hakimullah Mehsud to get blown up and I'll be laughing. I'm curious to know TMIB - would that BBC/Wiki mash up thing have been enough to get me DDP points? The existence of that page is why I decided to pick him (and Steve New) in the first place.

BBC Obit. Sort of.

The website of folk/country singer/songwriter/guitarist Kenny Edwards states that he is in hospital with "a life threatening illness". Various other websites tell us that he has "an extreme form of cancer"

He has died.

Gabor's hospital stay extended indefinitely

I agree with most of what you say Godot, but he did more than call us anonymous cowards. He referred to us, via twitter, as 'students' and, perhaps worse still, 'scum'. Now call me old fashioned, but I feel that the term 'scum' should only be used to describe the real dregs of society - child pornographers, cannibals, politicians, that sort of thing - rather than honest, taxpaying, gainfully employed deadpoolers, who wish harm on virtually nobody. Nevertheless, we should forgive David Quantick for his slurs, as it does nobody any good to bear a grudge, a fact he may wish to ponder over before he considers doing a hatchet job on us. I presume that he is merely freelance and not on the DT payroll in any shape or form? Just wondering, like...

Still, if he's so angry about people writing things about celebrities under fake names, he must have been fucking fume at David Stubbs for all that Mr Agreeable stuff, huh? I'm not all that surprised, they probably have one man and his dog playing it. Even at the beginning of DDP back in 1996 the teams were the likes of Nick J. and Simon R. and of course Big Iain.. Yes he has changed tack hasn't he? Why isn't he condeming Fallsound for using 'real' people? I can't even find the fucking thing. He must have really been digging. And why is he using another deadpool as a tool in his argument against deadpools in general? Try this one for a dead pool David: http://www.stiffs.com/ These lot play for money.... This Facebook page is the top result when you type Fantasy Death League into Google, it has a whole 179 members, with a massive 9 posts on it's main wall this year, the last post on a discussion thread was in February, hardly 'the better known variant'. Also one of the members of this page is a certain David Quantick . Good find LG. Mr Quantick is a very silly man indeed, I wonder if he's now wishing he'd joined facebook under an assumed name. That's one greenhouse well and truly stoned to death! The level of sanctimoniousness emanating from Mr Quantick is simply breathtaking, so much so that I can hardly convince myself this is for real. His body of work has probably done more to offend people over the years than all of the members here put together will ever manage to achieve. The man should get a grip and drop the affected piety. If he wants to stop some of the offensiveness in this world, then revoloution begins at home, in front of the bathroom mirror. That said, it shouldn't be forgotten that a good friend of his has died and perhaps this shocking dereliction of objectivity on his part is evidence that grief really does cloud judgement to the extent that you can end up behaving like a complete arse.

Morrissey speaks... possibly.

He probably thinks you're the main man! I'm a bit concerned with this. I don't want this to spiral into some media thing. It is the silly season after all and I know a wise man once said that all publicity is good publicity, but this might provoke a shit storm... Best practice, I think, is that TMIB quietly ignores all further personal communications. There's little Mr Quantick can do besides whine. A shit storm doesn't bother me much. I don't expect that this will spill over to DL, but if it does, management can handle it, I trust. A few nice rants would certainly increase entertainment value here. What worries me most is that, rather than discussing our successes and failures, we're wasting our time on this rubbish. regards, Hein There's no such thing as bad publicity. By the way I'm intrigued by this "big idea". No one's ever told me about it. Also have been trying to fathom out that Twitter trail. I've been twittering myself for eons now but don't really understand it. It's getting a bit complicated with retweets and stuff like that, couldn't make head nor tail of the link nor who was speaking to who although there seemed to be an entertaining exchange of insults in there. What's Quantick's health like? All that moral indignation can't be very good for one's blood pressure! I am distressed at the allegations he has levelled towards us all and I feel that he owes us an apology. The man thinks that all 400+ DDP competitors are "scum" and therefore perhaps he should be treated with the contempt he deserves. However, maybe he has misunderstood and should be given a chance to clarify his views. Does he really think that we all wanted Steven Wells to die?? I wouldn't have minded so much if the condemnation had come from some hopeless Daily Mail resident fascist, that would have been expected. But I'd always quite admired David Quantick's work so it's all the more depressing to read that he has turned in to a reactionary old fart. I am still shocked that it really was him and not an imposter. No man has given more services to the art of hypocrisy this week than David Quantick. This is a lesson to us all; how one moment you can be a leading luminary in contemporary cutting edge wit and within a few years have morphed in to Melanie Phillip's (sic) love child.

Slightly self indulgent, but I wanted to share this lovely obituary for my good friend and former English lecturer Fran Jenkin who died a few days ago. RIP Fran, you were one of the best.
-
Does he want me to remove the other 870 or so dead celebs in case we cause offence? And of all fucking people, Steven Wells, the oh so iconoclastic journo too... Not sure how to respond. Any suggestions? Unbelievable! The man who helped write Brass Eye getting hot under the collar about causing offence! Didn't he play a leading role in coming up with " " It must be an imposter, surely? I'd politely provide him with a link the the rules, inform him you cannot accede to his request but that you welcome all feedback, accuse him of causing offence to the family of Albert Camus, and then go on to ask him if he is related to any of the inbred, dribbling, dentally challenged, cross eyed, deranged fuckwits called Quantick who are so prevelant in Devon.

Not a good week for preformers called Mitch.... Mich Jayne, 80, bassist with wonderful folky/country/bluegrass band 'The Dillards', has died just two weeks after he was diagnosed with cancer. Rather a tenuous link, but 'The Dillards' played a band called 'The Darlings' on the Andy Griffith show

Hardline American sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has become infamous for his use of hardline tatics such as the reintroduction of the chain gang, is now believed to be the subject of a $1 million bounty put up by a disgruntled Mexican drugs cartel. There are many immigrants in Arizona at the moment who have good reason to feel persecuted, so there's a pretty reasonable chance someone might take advantage of the cartel's kind offer.

Derf Scratch, original bassist with pioneering American speedcore punk band Fear, has died after a long illness. The video contained within the obituary is, leaving aside the music, well worth watching - a classic case of punks inciting their audience to riot.

Oh God, this is like watching a flounder with an attitude problem doing a Timmy Mallett impression in a tank full of sharks.

Bike - always good for a quick gettaway if required! Tired and emotional after a night on the tiles - Kebab or KFC? DWB Kebab for sure. Killing someone you really hate so they are gone for good, or just maiming them so they suffer for life? Killing. Absinthe or Guinness?

Actor Maury Chaykin has died on his 61st birthday. He's probably best known for playing the befuddled and incontinent Major Fambrough in Dances With Wolves, .
