Who? I always find it better to enlighten myself by reading up on unfamilar subject matters, rather than displaying my ignorance for all to see . Go well. -

Ideas And Possibilities For 2009

Melissa Bell, 44, former lead singer of Soul II Soul, is "critically ill" as she awaits a suitable donor with kidneys and a pancreas to spare. Her daughter is on that awful "X Factor" TV horror show, which will guarantee her pages of tabloid coverage should no donor be forthcoming. -
We certainly need at least one hell raiser on the list, possibly more -maybe 2009 will be the year Shane MacGowan finally dissolves. We should also have a religious leader to balance things out a bit, as well as Alain Robert, Gazza and Barak Obama . That will be all.

Rear Admiral George Morrison has died at the age of 89. He outlived his rather more famous son Jim, whose career followed a very different path.

I predict that Seve will not die in 2009 and may survive for a considerable time. But four brain operations are sure to have taken a massive toll on his cerebral function. The old Seve is possibly gone forever, the stricken wreck that is left may plod on for longer than some of us think. It's not that there are any "good" brain tumours to have, but he has the wrong sort of tumour to provide us with instant death gratification IMO. It'll get him eventually, though - he's a safe long term investment for the DL. He'll probably have died by tomorrow morning now I've posted this.

If he has a "minimal amount of disease" then he's still going to die pretty swiftly from it. Just because he isn't saying goodbye doesn't mean that he isn't a very ill man. It will be interesting to see how many public appearances he makes over the next few weeks. If he isn't seen out and about much, then draw your own conclusions. He has not outlived "everybody who has had pancreatic cancer". Ronnie Hawkins was diagnosed six years ago and still hasn't died (although no one seems to know quite why he isn't dead). Opera singer Marilyn Horne was diagnosed in January 2006 and is still preforming. Hank Cochran is another who might beat the disease.

That's right, for 2009 anyway. I'll look at something easy to understand & 100% watertight for 2010, if I'm still running it then. PS I hope to have the 2009 game "open" on Saturday night all being well, if not, it will be Sunday morning. Is it still OK to pick hostages? I'm keeping an eye on Dany Egreteau.

North or South? That's my point deadsox. The United States is part of the North American landmass. It is not the entire landmass nor populace of it, no matter how much it ignores everyone else. Failure to see this is one of the reasons why the USA is regarded as arrogant, insular and self-centred. As an example, this is like South Africans referring to their country as "Africa." Other, less important countries in Africa must, however, refer to themselves as their own country name. We all know how stupid some US politicians sound when they refer to a continent when they thought it was a country. The reverse is also true of a nation that refers to itself as a continent. My good wishes are aimed at any American who observes Thanksgiving. Trying to correct a many centuries old and universally used terminology for national identity is taking pedantry to new levels and is doomed to failure. I disagree that the international perception of the USA has anything to do with the fact that it's citizens refer to themselves as Americans.

It doesn't hurt to be nice sometimes. Happy Thanksgiving to you Deadsox, your family and all of our American members, I hope you have a great day

Rowdy Roddy Piper has spoken of his "drugs shame" I thought he'd been given the all clear from cancer last year, so he's either lying or he's still unwell. He doesn't exactly look at death's door in the video of the happy event.
