    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

If Sandy West, may she rest in peace, can get a UK obit, the possibilities are endless. I have managed to convince myself that obits editors of UK newspapers read this site so they can get the necessary tribute written up well before someone dies. I know it is standard practise in the press for obits to be prepared in advance, so DeathList could potentially be a useful resource. Am I truly insane or does anyone else think this? Anyway I'm rambling and not entirely fit to operate machinery at the present time. All I meant to post was that Hilly Kristal, the founder and longtime owner of iconic New York night club CBGB's has lung cancer.

    Not Exactly Famous...

Dr. George Saslow, a pioneering psychiatrist who founded one of the first mental health inpatient crisis units in the United States, has died aged 99. He continued to teach into his 90s and to treat patients until his death in mid-September. During World War II, he was assigned to the Manhattan Project, where he treated the scientists and technicians developing the atom bomb.

    Work Or Home?

Ah the joys of Calor gas. We are off the mains and many years ago I put two propane tanks in...... The most expensive decision ever. You should turn your most expensive decision in to your most explosive destruction and claim on the insurance.

Damn, that's one of my secret candidates for DDP gone now. He's allegedly far iller than just an acute cardiac condition, which is pretty bad in itself. Thankfully I still have 7 or 8 secret candidates that DDT has not discovered yet. Give me time OoO! And remember; caring is sharing!

    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

The former president of Zambia Frederick Chiluba is reported to be suffering from an acute cardiac condition. He is also facing corruption charges, which won't help his condition. His wife was recently arrested on money laundering charges and the linked article states "... Chiluba's wife was accompanied to the police by her lawyers and family members but the former president stayed home due to his deteriorating health."

    Political Frailty

I suggest you think again. Ulufa'alu has made a full recovery from his emergency stay in hospital and resigned his post as finance minister on Monday over the Solomon Isle's links with Australia. You can add him on for the name, but don't expect him to die. this article (so hot off the press it is has tomorrow's date) is still referring to Ulufa'alu as gravely ill.

    31. Louis Farrakhan

Farrakahn update "...Doctors discovered an ulcer in Farrakhan's anal area during a visit to Cuba in March, but said his health was otherwise "near perfect," Farrakhan said in the letter...."

President Saparmurat Niyazov, the despotic 'President For Life' of Turkmenistan announced on Friday that he has heart disease, confirming reports that his health is deteriorating. He was unable to fast during Ramadan because of his health problems. From Wiki: He has been given the hero of Turkmenistan award five times. "I'm personally against seeing my pictures and statues in the streets - but it's what the people want," Niyazov has said.

Francis Cardinal George, the Archbishop of Chicago , was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer earlier this year. His wiki page states "He has a favorable prognosis for recovery, and is recuperating at his residence", but I'm not so sure. He made an appearance at the Vatican last week and was described in this article as "ailing"

    Mirza Tahir Hussain

He's bound to get a mention on the news purely because of the circumstances. but as for being "famous" I wouldn't say he qualifies on that aspect. He's got a 2-month stay of execution. I'll pencil him in for the DDP for 2007. I wonder what time of day executions are carried out in Pakistan? The time difference is +5GMT, so if Hussain gets hanged at nine o'clock at night local time, it will already be 2007 in the UK. (I think ) Would this qualify him for DDP points?

You can add him on for the name, but don't expect him to die. That is a shame. Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah it is then.

    Ross Davidson

Guests have been allowed to post since last Saturday morning - they just don't want to it would seem. Guest posting was suspended for a few days last week mainly due to the stupidity of a few in the Hunter thread. DWB Thanks DWB. The reason I asked was that I was amazed not a single ranter has dropped by, so I logged out and tried to post and got a message saying I didn't have permission. I don't know anything about computers at all, but has that "Allow Guests To Post" button definately been pressed?

Are guests no longer allowed to post on DL? Is this a temporary thing or a more permanent arrangement? We should be told.

    Incredible Research

You are most likely to suffer a fatal heart attack between the hours of 8 and 9am. Don't know if this helps at all....

It does, but it was only announced on the BBC at 10.30 GMT today. I'm sure when out friend across the Atlantic wakes up, the scoreboard will be amended accordingly and four teams will be in joint first place. Two hits in four days, it took me nine months to get that far on the DDP! I have to say this is the most success I've had on any dead pool all year, I also score my first point on the WDP Drat, I've underestimated how much people in the UK give a damn about Ross Davidson... Teodoro Obiang Nguema better be damn prepared to cark it in the coming year. Anyhow, still a hit for me in the WDP and, more importantly for four of you, points in the CPDP. I'll do the full update and email once I get back from my afternoon class. Look on the bright side CP, your man in Pakistan has been given a new exectution date of November 1st. I think my Bali bomber is going to end up in second position in this particular race.

    Sir Bobby Robson

Bobby 'Hard As Nails' Robson, goes back to work. It will take more than lung cancer or a brain tumour to knock him off his perch.
