Yes, he must be the oldest star on the CBeebies roster. My sons are big fans of Old Jack's Boat. Another screen veteran still plying their trade on CBeebies is a hale and hearty looking James Bolam, who plays a man with an ability to rapidly shrink in Grandpa In My Pocket

Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets
DevonDeathTrip replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
I saw this headline on Google News and was struck by how, if someone had read the article title ten years ago, they wouldn't have had a clue what it really meant: Isis news: Daesh retaliate in cyberwar with Anonymous And another thing (shamelessly stolen from Twitter), if you didn't know exactly what it involved, "Waterboarding at Guantanamo Bay" would sound like a great holiday. -

Thanks for that informaiton Smutmeister. Very interesting. I was thinking that, as Mr Assange must have a bit of spare time on his hands, cooped up in that embassy, he might like to have a go at the Derby Dead Pool. He'd stand a good chance, as I'm sure he may be party to information we don't know about regarding the health of various luminaries. I was going to email him an invite, but chickened out. If anyone else wants to contact him, his email is julian@wikileaks.org

As I've mentioned before, picking an Irish person, a folk/country musician, a criminal and a religious leader always works well for me. The other sixteen names will have to wait until Boxing Day evening. when I shall complete my annual ritual of taking a small amount of peyote, before getting drunk - and I mean really drunk - on whatever spirits I can lay my hands on and then waiting for the visions of who is going to die next year to appear before me. That usually does the trick. I suffer for my art.

Who Should Be On The 2016 Deathlist?

. Just my annual post, putting Sister Wendy in the frame for next year. She hasn't made a public appearance at all in 2015. -
General Non School Massacre Thread

Anyone up for a game of "predict the next terrorist atrocity on Western soil"? I'm going for several different cities around the UK in the week before Christmas. Groups of armed and suicide belted jihadists simultaneously run amok in busy shopping precincts, causing utter carnage. The final death toll will be about 150-200. Over to you. -
I've posted this before on DL, but Loggia stars in one of my favourite film scenes.

Armed man now seen outside discount store...police not there yet. Police radio said witness had seen an armed male of middle eastern appearance with a long beard. Edit - looks like a false alarm, no further radio traffic about it. -
"Attorney, entrepreneur, political gadfly and perennial candidate", John Jay Hooker, a well known figure in Tennessee (but not possibly not that well known anywhere else), looks like he's had an interesting life. In August he was diagnosed with melanoma and told he had six months to live. Since then he has been campaigning for the right for people to have the choice of an assisted suicide, so one way or another, 2017 looks like a pretty unrealistic prospect for him. Hooker is a good friend of Muhammad Ali, who apparently gave him a shout-out on live TV after winning the "Thrilla in Manilla".

African Leaders - Despots and Democratic

With regards to Jammeh, the same website which reported his ill health in the link above ran a story yesterday that he had narrowly escaped death after he was attacked by his pet lion. In 2011 the very same site also reported that he was dying of pancreatic cancer and last month they raised concerns about his sex addiction. -
Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Who cares? He's 'deadable'. You folks really have issues putting carts in front of horses. I'll take 12 deaths and 4 of them don't obit vs your 6 folks that guarantee obits. You know who won't obit? LIVING PEOPLE!SC I look forward to doing battle with you in the DDP next year then. -

Military author and retired diplomat Robert F Dorr is suffering from incurable brain cancer. Impending death not in question....but is he obitable? http://robertfdorr.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/news-from-bob.html?m=1 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_F._Dorr -
If he went to a hospice instead of hospital, that it suggests there is not much that can be done to help him. If his cancer is stage IV, new tumours could have popped up at will and if they have created an obstruction anywhere along his food canal, he might well have difficulties in keeping down his lunch, so Christmas dinner may be just too much for him to contemplate.

You and me both! Jacques Villeneuve Sr had announced he intends to take part in the 2016 Ski-doo Grand Prix, to be held in February. With regards to his cancer, he has apparently been "medically cleared" to race, which doesn't tell us much really. Anyway, he's fired from my DDP team for a truly woeful performance.

Scandal mired Nigerian politician Diezani Alison-Madueke, the current president of OPEC, is apparently suffering from cancer. She was arrested in the UK by the National Crime Agency earlier this year, who wanted to speak to her about bribery and money laundering, leading to rumours that she may be exaggerating her illness to avoid further legal action.
