David Gilmour's wife passes on her best wishes to Roger Waters.

I would be happy to see the drop 40 bonus go altogether. Created with the best of intentions, but the... 'groupthink' (is that the right word?) it inspires is a bad thing in my opinion, as it is an antidote for more considered and independent thought.

I understand that Angela Piper suffered a serious stroke a few months ago.

Budget cooker Jack Monroe, no stranger to taxing mental states, not having the best of weekends. I hope she's ok. Her successful campaign last year for supermarkets to price their economy foods more fairly hugely helped those most in need.

Absolutely, he was huge part of my jingle-jangle, folkie, acoustic soundscape. I also found out recently that he came up with the opening riffs for the Grateful Dead's Playing in the Band. Had he known about it I'm sure he'd have been delighted to outfox the DeathList by a couple of weeks

He seemed fairly chipper last week.

Lots to ponder over here. Reclusive Yorkshire Japanese family, who spoke their own private language, embalmed their deceased sister - a Cambridge classics graduate - with surgical spirit and refused to believe she was dead, even as she entered an advanced state of mummification -
I've succumbed to temptation and started a new thread for our ailing Princess.

I'd like to play please. Always a sure sign spring is coming, when I'm barrel-scraping on Twitter for comatose Polynesian minor political figures.

One of the few celebrities I've spoken to - Gianluca Vialli came to the Exeter City vs Chelsea friendly shortly after signing for them in August 1996 and was happy (if slightly bemused) to talk to me about his home town of Cremona. A lovely man and a great footballer.

There was a comparison on the radio earlier to the 1268 Papal election. The debate lasted three years, during which 3 of the 21 Cardinal Electors died and the rest of them were locked into a palace until they came to an agreement. When that failed, the Cardinals were put on half rations of food and when that didn't work either, the roof of the building was removed. -

Well, you were banned - permanently - from these forums in 2005 and you've only served eighteen years so far. Now you're back and still posting like a deranged idiot. I'm putting you on mod preview and you're going to be banned again unless you seriously improve on your quality control.- 71 replies

We thought David Lynch looked sad on his weather forecast today and he didn't mention any music, which is unheard of. Now we know why.

England needed to be much more aggressive IMO. There seems to be a complete lack of thuggery, menace and violence throughout squad. Too much focus on 'football' and far too little on putting the fear of God into the French, who everyone knows are infinitely worse at war than they are at sports.
