The King has no fever and is now eating again...thats Thai for 'the King has recovered'. Looks like the Queen will have to wait a bit longer before she overtakes Bhumibol. At least now she knows how Charles feels.

Looks like she wasn't putting it on after all... Aren't they supposed to have a UK report for DL qualification? http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/sep/2...san-atkins-dies Telegraph I think we are safe...

Al-Megrahi - it has gone quiet from him over the last week...

I've made thousands of posts. Can I come? Only if said poster (I'm half thinking it's DDT) has at least 50 fully signed-on postings. Sorry, but I've got to draw a line somewhere, if only to limit my own time on this pressing key pad thing called a computer. Anyway the whole idea is to have like minded folk at this meeting - not a room full of lurkers or people who can't be bothered to sign-in. Just 50 posts? Or does it have to be 50 'quality' posts. Given that I have been invited, I'll take it to be the former. Hay, don't stick your tongue out at me. I still remember that you called me smug some time back. Yes, go on brag a bit that you have been asked! I just thought of you when I was looking at that place on the short list. Who said, "no man's an island"? Even you should have to consider every now and then if you want to be at all sociable after loudly saying, "I'm not going". As for the quality of the posts in question I'm open to the idea that quality can outweigh quantity and open to fair reasoning on such matters - but not very much further. Just these last few months have seen a number of interesting posts from "newbies". Note that Madcow has 42 posts now and all since 28th May 09 - that's a fair posting record. As has "the engineer" on 37 posts since 2 Feb 09. Which brings me back to my 50-post idea cut-of point. Unless we see these posters leave about a post a day then its a bit like hard work to understand their resondetra and judge their position. Hell, I've fallen for the duff info this last year. Just have to laugh it off. What the hell is a resondetra? I say it should be only those who have made more than 1000 posts. Oh wait - that would remove you, wouldn't it? 700 was the magic number for Godot if I remember correctly. PS. You are still smug.

The Pope is visiting the United Kingdom next year. This may include a stop in Northern Ireland.

How old are you again? ...and this may sound rich coming from me, but get a grip.

King Edward II of England is said to have met his unfortunate end on this day in 1327. "While lying in on a bed [the king] was suddenly seized and, while a great mattress... weighed him down and suffocated him, a plumber's iron, heated intensely hot, was introduced through a tube into his anus so that it burned the inner portions beyond the intestines". — Thomas de la Moore.

Great news, his majesty is also on my DDP team suffering from a surfiet of being alive. Good news for the Queen as well. If this bugger dies she becomes the longest reigning living (proper) monarch in the world. It will probably be good for the people of Thailand too.

Well it doesn't show in that picture...

New contender for World's oldest man. Luang Phu Supha is claiming to be 113 - not 115 as the article heading suggests.

Another of 'Windsor's Workplace Whinges'. As expected the new owners have cut our hours, but yet they expect us to do the same work. One of our staff was told she could take a job as a cleaner or be made redundant (yet her workmate whose mother works in the office still has her job even though she has been there for less time). I have nothing much more to lose as my hours have been cut back to a pathetic total. This will give me much leverage when I accuse the new owners of treating their staff like dirt and clients like walking pound signs. I have already accused them of 'gross profiteering' to their faces so this should come as no shock to them. Bunch of arseholes. Luckily I haven't signed their confidentiality agreement so I can say what I want about their shitty company.

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries, etc... for 2009

Happy Birthday Lard Bazaar. Indeed, it is unfortunate that you can't enter your birthday into the system with out a year. New sweepstake idea...my guess is that she is 46. -
Swayze is barely cold. So 'calm the heid'. I'm sure the site will be updated in due course...
-
Unfortunately our erstwhile philosopher Banshees is now in with a definite shout after pocketing double points for Swayze... Na - No Noose is Good Noose will leap to victory with the death of the Lockerbie Bomber. NNiGN is currently in second place with Al-Megrahi as his Joker. Thats 18 points for him - provided he doesn't die on the 13th or Christmas Day. Most people in the top 20 will only get the standard 9.
-
Congratuations to everybody (surely everybody had him on their DDP). But please, in between you celebrations, spare a thought for Di the Welsh cook.
-
I went for al-Megrahi. His brother says his health has declined further and - lets face it - playing up his illness is no longer in his interest. Also - he is my joker on the DDP and I need the double points to boost me in the rankings...
-
Marcus the sheep sent to slaughterhouse.
-
His health has apparently deteriorated...again. Now he can't speak...another thing he has in common with Biggs.
-
Given that it is now September, doesn't 2010 count as 'soon'? Oh yes, and what actual evidence are you basing this prediction on?
-
So how did the creepy bastard do it?

I don't like cats. They are too sly and quick. I especially hate it when they are sitting on a wall at head height. I fear they may leap onto my head and start clawing out my eyes. I think it all stems from an incident which occured at my Auntie Muriel's house when I was little. Her cat was a nutter. On one occassion it tried to claw me for no apparent reason. It missed me but its claws got caught in the sleeve of my home-made knitted jumper. I was left howling, and the sleeve of my jumper was rather stretched. Thats why I'll never trust another cat again. [Please post your pussy jokes here]

Oh pants. Happy Birthday Monoclinic. Please forgive my lateness.
