Not sure where to post this (as I don't believe he has his own thread), but Iain McColl (RabC Nesbit fame) is supposed to be in remission. I read it in the News of the World a couple of weeks back but there was no online link. Anyway...if you thought he was a Idea or Possibility for 2010, hes not...

I like the logic behind that...you must share the secrets of your 'what if' machine with the wider DL community...

Sometimes people say the most stupid f'ucking things! Disrespect for life? Whos life? His! That man has drank too much, smoked too much, lost a fortune, made a fortune, lost it again and did some cooking. If he only lives to 66, so be it. Is it not better to live to 66 having filled that life with pleasures, whatever they may be, and enjoyed the adrenalin of life rather than live to 88 having had life bore the tits off of you? Trashed body or not, he has probably had more fun than most of us will ever have. Good luck to him, the only man that I actually enjoyed watching cook. Nobody cooks like Floyd, no f'ucker can hold a candle to him.....incase the alcohol fumes ignite. Cremation seems an unlikely choice then He's just the same as all TV chefs... don't reely see any difference TBH but if you insist then please do explain to me what it is about his cooking that makes him so unique from the rest? Jamie Oliver tells you how to feed your kids. Hugh Fearnly-Whittingthingmy goes on about chicken welfare. Gordon Ramsay goes on about cooking proper food. Keith Floyd doesn't give a sh*te.

Thank you all for your kind messages on both my birthday and graduation. -
Not that I mean to be a moaning Minnie, but is anyone else receiving duplicate emails from the DDP? (Not that I mind. A fuller inbox makes me feel popular)

Claude Choules is the only surviving veteran to have seen active service. Surely that qualifies him as the only real veteran of the war. I know that there are official guidelines and whatnot, but if they didn't do anything...should they be counted? I think that Patch was the last veteran in the real sense of the word given that he actually fought in the trenches. Choules, for example, explained his war as boring. Coudn't agree more. It's good that the BBC and Sky are reporting him as the last veteran. Although Choules did put his life at risk, but not to the extent that Patch did. I don't know about that, the risks are less visible at sea but they could still be bombed or torpedoed without warning and go to a swift watery grave. As for Claude saying his war was boring, there's bound to be a bit of modesty there, but Actually that was true for soldiers in the trenches too. They weren't permanently in the front line, and in quieter sectors, much of the time nothing much happened anyway. Was most of the German Fleet not contained at Port for the majority of the war due to a Naval blockade? I seem to recall that was the case but may be mistaken. As for the dangers at sea, my great great grandfather was in in the Naval Reserve as a minesweeper. Unfortunately he and his crew weren't that good at their jobs and ploughed righ into a mine. On the other hand, his son spent the full 4 years on the Western Front. From what I can tell from his war records, he spent most of it getting drunk and was therefore detained countless times in jail a good bit away from the front. The worst thing to happen to him was scabbies and influenza. So perhaps I am wrong to say that naval warfare is less dangerous than the war in the trenches. Then again, perhaps my great great grandfather and his crew were also drunk.

Personally, I don't think it matters. Afterall, regardless of their nationality they are all still subjects of a British Queen.

No - I don't think "everyone" needs to watch it - JUST A LOAD OF C\<P. I thought it was quite funny. Mainly because it takes the piss out of those conspiracy nut-cases who use codes...

A photo as promised. Apologies about the size. -
What you trying to say Lardy? You want Patrick Moore to come round and give you a warm cuddle? Perhaps you just want to burn him on an open fire. That should keep you warm till next summer then. I'll tell you all - it's global warming!!! How can it be global warming, it's f'ucking freezing! It's 23C, 64% humidity in Glasgow. The heating is staying well off. Can't be! I'm just north of you in Dundee and it's absolutely pissing it down here (and its windy and cold ) I'm just North of you in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire and its pissing down here and very windy indeed. Its like November.

I've been in contact with someone who has been in contact with someone who is confirmed as having swine flu. Remember the woman who works in the office who I always moan about? Its her ex-husband's wife and her daughter. Its getting closer...

You're starting to piss me off now.

Maria del Carmen Bousada de Lara: I can only imagine under what letter OoO would have placed this on the DDP. Actually, I feel like she was on the DDP or the HDP in some year past... maybe not... She was picked this year & was under letter D Slightly annoyed as she was a backup for my Spanish CPDP team... but never mind... She was on my DDP last year. God knows why I didn't put her in my top 50 this year.

Would you like to buy a pre-boiled egg to go with that?

Again. People who don't give you references after they have agreed to. I've sent him lots of emails with no response, and even went through to his office last week but although his lights were on, he wasn't answering the door. I'm going back through today again. He is still alive. I saw him on Thursday, but given that I was 'in procession' to my graduation ceremony I could hardly stop and say, 'about that reference you said you'd write'...
