As well as that, his man in Nevada has dropped dead at just 44 years of age. The Curse of Obama has started, and he's not even in power yet... This is surely stretching it a bit though: link "The owner of the house that Barack Obama lived in when in Jakarta, Indonesia, has died of prostate cancer. Tata Abubakar Soerono was close to Obama, treating the presidential candidate "as if he were his own son", according to Slamet Danuaji." Next we'll have "the man who lives next door to the cousin of some bloke that once set next to Obama's wife's hairdresser's sister on a train has died" If I'm not mistaken, it has been said that whoever wins the election will die in office. Something about a curse of two Senators competing or something...

What about those of us who did bother to ask? You're being a tad disingenuous, since you've made it pretty clear you wouldn't have attended even if it had been held in your own house. Have you ever ventured beyond Scotland's wall(s), by the way? Anyway, feel free to take offence even though none is intended. I'm just pointing out that I did ask where this meetingwas taking place, to which no answer was given. Thus I possibly have the best excuse for not being there. (By the way - I have left Scotland on about 4 occassions that I can remember. So yes.)

After the recent storm at the BBC, it has emerged that Jonathan Ross has been receiving nuisance phone calls. Gary Glitter keeps phoning him up to tell him that he shagged his daughter.

And the fact that some didn't know where this 'convention' was being held. I'm telling you - this forum would be nothing without me. It would have been dead in the ground...etc...etc.
-
Given that I was not informed on where this convention/piss up was meeting, it was impossible for me to attend. It must be said though, that I probably would not have gone anyway.

Today: 1 litre of diesel: 111.9 1 litre of petrol: 96.9 A drop of 20p - not bad. Given the drop in oil prices per barrel, it should probably be more though... Did you spot that out of the bus window, while you were walking the dof or when you were filling up your Jag, Windy? Actually it was whilst being driven into the town by mum.

Brand resigns link Excellent! Unfortunately he still has his channel 4 show 'Ponderland'. I've seen one episode and didn't think much of it. Bloody idiot. Basically, he stood there and rabbled shite for an hour. If Banshees moved to the UK, he could be Brand's replacement. CarolAnn, he will land on his feet. He seems to be quite popular with th 'hip' younger crowd who giggle every time someone says 'fanny'.

This article did much to make me smile when I read it. I don't care what they do with Ross, but for the love of god this must be the beginning of the end for Brand?! In my opinion it has been a long time coming. Fingers crossed he gets the sack. Everything else crossed that nobody else will employ him!

Not for the first time, Cardinal Keith O'Brien. This man seems to have trouble keeping his mouth shut. He represents a very small minority of Scottish people, yet he seems to hold disproportionate influence in the politics of Scotland. When he becomes an elected representative, and not one appointed by a wrinkled old (now deceased) fart from the Vatican, he might be seen to have a right to hold influence in politics. (Yes, I know this is a bit rich coming from a monarchist). The way the Catholics have been carrying on lately it may be worth reintroducing some sort of Penal Law to keep them out of politics. (And to think that before I read that article, I was only going to rant about a woman on the bus who had a particularly noisy plastic bag).

That sounds fair. But if they lived long enough to meet their execution, the points should not be given.

Where will the Grand Convention of 2008 be meeting?

I completely agree: Berk!

Room 101 never fails to remind me of how easily absorbed people are by the common annoyances of everyday life. How can you complain about a ringtone? I think you need to stop acting like an infant and understand that not everybody uses library etiquette outside of the library. Now that Magere Hein is dead, I'll give his advice to you in my own words. (I could have kicked his ass in chess) it's a good thing he isn't around... .. .. Anyway, If you don't want to use a scissor: stop being my aunt's former boyfriend Bernie and spend some money on either a car or an I-Pod. I've just given you two solutions which could solve this ongoing problem. The fact of the matter is that I shouldn't have to listen to their gay tunes. When I say ringtones, I mean full dance music tunes with the highpitched voices. If you want to listen to it, fair enough - THEY should buy an ipod or personal CD player complete with ear phones. Can you imagine if everybody on the bus decided to play the music on their phones at full volume? As for your two solutions, I shouldn't have to take either of them. The fact is that it is just selfish to play your music out loud when you are in a confined space with other people. But then I wouldn't expect you to take that into consideration. As for me being an infant, I think that is rich coming from someone whos entire existance on this plannet seems to revolve around how popularly he is received on an internet forum, the members of which he has never met. As for your comments on Magere Hein. If he is indeed dead, leave it be.

The woman sent a telegram to her own mother on her 100th birthday. 82 to the likes of people with genes like that is nowt. People tend to forget that her father kicked the bucket when he was 56...

Its probably just a sob story to help his appeal along the way. Still, he'd be on my DDP.

Ill people who brave out their illness to show up for meetings, lectures etc etc. There was a girl in my history tutorial today, and she coughed all the way through it. What was the point in her being there? She didn't learn anything or contribute. Just coughed everywhere which was fairly annoying. I won't be too chuffed if I end up ill. Also, people on buses who play their annoying ringtones and phone tunes quite loud. Inconsiderate bastards. There was a particularly loud lady this morning who played all her crappy tunes for our 'amusement'. Before that she spent about 10 minutes saying 'goodbye' to her kid on the phone - very loudly. Its not all bad though. That same lady also got the same bus home as me. As we were leaving Aberdeen the bus braked quickly, and her shopping fell all over the floor. I thought it was funny...

We've been here before. I believe the answer is that "deathlist is not a democracy".

Levi Stubbs is the 12th success of 2008. He is the 172nd success since 1987. The 2008 list is now in third place, shared with 2004 and 2005, out of 22 lists.. Only two more deaths until we match the mighty haul of 2003. Less than two months to go...

I think Obama has this one in the bag. If he can hold Florida, Ohio and Colorado, my calculations say he wins. Given the recent polls for these states, I'm sure he will carry them. Counting almost definate electoral ballots, Obama will reach 272 electoral college votes with only 18 States. Here is my list. Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, N. Carolina, Virginia, Minnesota, Colorado, Iowa, Nevada, New Mexico, New Hampshire, California, Hawaii, New York, Illinois, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts. I haven't evaluated all the states, so there will be more to add to this list. I use the word 'evaluated' loosely... Any one wish to pick this apart (keeping in mind that if my predictions were accurate, Charles Kennedy would still be leader of the Lib Dems)? -
Something to do with him being a Rhodes scholar perhaps? Really not too sure what David Icke's reasons were. Here's the full list of the (alleged) evil reptilian shape shifters: The British Royal Family Bill Clinton Hillary Clinton (a "high Illuminati witch") Al Gore (Icke says Gore is a "serious blood drinker") Dick Cheney Robert C. Byrd Henry Kissinger Tom Foreman, CNN Correspondent (Long time post-acadian swamp reptilian. Big Time)) William F. Buckley (whom Icke says is a "head of the elite JANUS mind control operation based at NATO headquarters in Belgium which trains mind-controlled psychic assassins") Edward Heath Tony Blair (perhaps not a reptilian, more likely a "mind- controlled multiple") Peter Mandelson Rupert Murdoch Bob Hope ("Life-time asset of British Intelligence, mind-controlled slave handler") Frank Sinatra Billy Graham Pat Robertson ("high Illuminati priest") Kris Kristofferson Boxcar Willie Bill O'Reilly Jim Davidson Andrew Marr David Aaronovitch ("high-order reptilian") Richard Littlejohn Pierre Trudeau Brian Mulroney He has obviously been watching too much Doctor Who...
