Brooke Astor has been admitted to hospital: Source.
-
I noticed one report said that she had a fortune of only $40 million left. I can remember this conversation cropping up a few months ago in the search of deathlists richest graduate. It was agreed that Brooke Astor's passing would most probably make her the richest graduate to date. As far as I'm aware, $40 million is quite a bit less than the Queen Mothers 53 million pounds?
-
How about Big Brother VII contestant, Nikki Grahame? She's getting her own show on E4 so somebody is bound to murder her...
-
How very interesting. So alls it will take is for Brooke to have a fall, her son to be unreachable and she'll die. This sounds familiar: Told you so: Jesus Christ, shes Mr. Burns: PS. These quotes are from many differnt sources.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death... 2006

Design your own headstone. View my profile for one I made earlier. -
I'll probably be shot down for the following post but what the hell. I have a cunning plan which will hopefully allow me to sue the State of Israel. Currently anyone can be an Israeli citizen if they can prove that they are Jewish, yes? Well, my plan involves applying for Israeli citizenship which will ultimately be denied. When they deny my application I will ask for a stated reason and thus they will say, 'because you are not Jewish'. Thus I will then take them to court on grounds of discrimination (right after they have been tried for war crimes, and crimes against humanity). So what do you think? Would it work?

Read Any Good Books Lately?
Windsor replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I've not wanted to read The Da Vinci Code because it has received so much high praise, and things that receive high praise from the general media are usually completely rubbish... but I am thinking of giving it a try now based on your opinion BHB. I am trusting your individualism here. Why read the book when you can watch the film. Saves a few hours... Anyhow, the most interesting book(let) I've read recently is the 1957 copy of 'The rules and regulations of the Kirkton of Fraserburgh'. This death related read gives a fasinating insight to rules regarding burial in this time. Forget the expression 'Six foot under', this book(let) is very specific in saying that graves (especially if its a double plot) should be dug to 8 feet. It also says that there should be 6 inches of soil between each casket burried in the plot. A coffin must be under at least 3 foot of soil to ground level. Anyway, when I read this it reminded me of a Quirky news story I read last week. There was a lady tending to the grave of her late uncle. She was planting flowers at the grave. She then took a step to the side to survey her work when suddenly the ground fell from beneath her. She ended up half buried in the grave next door. It was reported that there were three caskets piled one on top of the other and one or more of the caskets caved in. The article didn't say if she was a bulky lady... Edit: Here is the article. -
But with such a vast list, how can you dwindle it down to 50 (for your alternative deathlist) or 20 fro your DDP?
-
I say keep on doing your list the way you see fit OoO. This is your thread. Actually, it's Phantom's idea. It's his thread as well. I think having two lists - mine & RA's will work, but only if there's different names for people to peruse. That's why I'm confused, as RA has incorporated the A list here into his A list, and also included the DDP list of A's, with numbers which further confuse me. I don't see any point including names just because there on the DDP, as people can check there. That's why I would like clarification if before I do L-Z so I'm not wasting my time preparing something that is already prepared. I'm totally confused by RA's list. I don't understand all the figures he's listed. 58.73 1 Kate Adie 10 war journo is that a 58.73% chance of her dying? and the 1 meaning that there's only one of her? AFAIK she's retired from frontline journolism, think she retired from that at the end of the first Gulf War. OoO. I seriously think you're doing a fantastic job. A lot more in depth than I anticipated. But the references you've put in are bloody helpful. Also if I could throw in a few more to add to the V's. Year of birth is in brackets Werner von Trapp (1915) - A retired dairy farmer living in Waitsfield, Vermont Agathe von Trapp (1913) - A retired teacher living in Baltimore, Maryland Maria F. von Trapp (1914) -Former lay missionary in Papua, New Guinea, now living in Stowe, Vermont Rosmarie von Trapp (1929) - A retired teacher who travels extensively as a missionary Elenore ("Lorli") von Trapp Campbell (1931) - Lives in Waitsfield, Vermont Johannes von Trapp (1939) - President of Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe, Vermont This just seems like too much effort. I think I will stick to my own process of putting down (no pun intended) 50 celebrities who I know are elderly or ill and pick the best 20 of those 50 for my DDP.

I became bored reading that I sometimes drink to relieve boredom, Brunno. Maybe you should try it sometime? I suppose that was most probably below the belt...

That's the nicest thing anyone's said to me for ages. It's the Windsor charm, my lady. Congratulations to DDT on his 500th Post. Your updates on T4 are very handy for me.

That's not a phrase I'm familiar with. Now if you had said he's a Nine Bob Note, I would understand much better. Also bent as a bottle of crisps - but I don't think that one is in common usage either. DWB Comes from the splendid 'Brasseye' Sex episode, where it was also suggested that homosexuals in the Armed Forces would be a bad idea due to the following logic: - 'Homosexuals can't swim, they attract enemy radar, they attract sharks, they nudge people when they're trying to shoot, they always insist on sitting at "The Captain's Table"... they "muck about". Imagine... the fear... when you go to sleep with a gay man on board and think "Oh God, when I wake up, will everyone be dead?" You can't run a ship like that.' Hope that helps, but basically it was just an excuse to post the above quote. Brass Eye is amazing. Good Aids/Bad Aids, Cake, and the Elephant who stuck its trunk up its own arse. The episode on paedophiles is probably me favourite with the paedophile disguised as a school.

Bugger. You got to it before me. I'd always thought people assumed she was still alive because it was convienient - 1/1/1907, first day of the year - but I'm glad someone has put a well-reasoned argument together that she's probably toast. Hope Rude Kid hears about this though. I suppose we will ultimately find out on the 1st January 2007. If she is alive, she is bound to get something written about her.

I was tryng to research Gavin Arviso for next years DDP but very little is said about him, or his cancer these days.

I'm a nineteen year old male living in Fraserburgh, one of the drug hotspots in the UK. I've never tried drugs. Also, I noticed you said we should have an indepth conversation with Doherty. I saw his interview with Jonathan Ross and I can assure you that Doherty did not have a clue what was going on around him. Why does everyone blame the media. I'll have you know I've been in the local paper (for local people)many times. Perhaps I cpould become a junkie and blame that. PS. Whats with the exaggerated used of Caps Lock, are you high?
-
That should go down well with Windsor. Hmm, how ironic.
-
"Iain" is quite a good name which will be available soon. Laughter' What are you thinking of changing to? 'Screaming Banshees'? You have become a deathlist institution. Surely you will not change name? Remember TF's short lived change to 'Maybe'? That was a complete disaster.

Well, being that it is now Monday morning, it would seem that iain cannot even get the timing right on things he actually does have control over! With any luck, this failure to turn up at deathlist will be the start of a new trend...

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries Etc...2006
Windsor replied to Tuber Mirum's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Happy Birthday, Ron. I would write you a poem but it would be nothing more than an insult to a master such as yourself. -
This one? http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=1637 Yes, I can formally confirm that that is the very thread I was speaking about. Did I mention that Ariel Sharon has hours to live? Wouldn't it be ironic if he died at the exact same time as Saddam Hussein. (Thanks Han )
-
How is that ironic? This is just another case of you squeezing out one news story into as many threads and posts possible.
-
There is a thread for this sort of stuff, iain. (Although the name of it escapes me at the minute).
-
I hope it's a farewell speech you are writing.
