My theme team is made up of people who have been appointed to the Order of the British Empire. I submitted my team about a week ago, and it didn't strike me until now that it may have been a good idea to wait until the 31st December...when the New Years Honours are revealed. What a tit... I'll bet they squeeze in a bunch of last minute have-an-honour-before-you-die folk...

I went into chat last night to find two guests in there. Since when were guests allowed in chat? They said bugger all, so I buggered off.

Not an appropriate thread I know - but will the DL2012 page be better hidden than the 2011 page before the 1st January? I seem to recall that someone guessed the not so original web-code-thingy before the 1st January, and posted the details of the list before the stroke of midnight.

Another mention on the net: http://www.kentnews....score_1_1164495 And another: http://www.thestandard.com.hk/news_detail.asp?we_cat=5&art_id=118242&sid=34826525&con_type=1&d_str=20111223&fc=7

Does he look awful? He looked like a guy who'd been undergoing chemo for the past three months. I see...but did he look awful enough for a place on my DDP?
-
He can't die until after 2014. I would hate to think what that overrated tax exile would leave to the SNP on his demise.

I entered my theme team a week or so ago. I haven't bothered entering my normal team yet because of the Etta James soap opera.

Do you suppose that's how Castro got his arse cancer?
-
No she isn't.

I'd like to put her on my DDP mainly because she's a bitch. Sadly the cancer isn't terminal enough for my liking.

I would disagree with the "no more than two team members from any one country". Not everybody has a database of 500 odd names...

David Walliams. He's not funny.

Mugabe is holidaying in Asia with his family: http://www.newzimbabwe.com/news-6798-Mugabe+holidaying+in+Asia/news.aspx Or perhaps... Ailing Mugabe has been rushed to Asia for medical treatment: http://nehandaradio.com/2011/12/26/ailing-mugabe-rushed-to-asia-for-treatment/ I think he'd be a brilliant candidate for 2012.

I should mention...it is usually custom not to reveal your team until after the 1st of January. I have noticed one or two teams on sigs already. It is supposed to be a competition...and some unscrupulous person may steal some of your best picks. I only mention this because one of my picks has been revealed in a sig. Although I didn't expect it to be a unique pick, I thought most people may have forgotten about them.

I heard he was on the mend and recovering well from his latest bout of pneumonia. Do you have any sources for these new rumours? Probably the same source as usual. His imagination.

I wasn't aware of her, which makes me wonder what other dead-certs I've missed for 2012 (assuming they make it to 2012).

It was only a chest infection three years ago - not heart surgery.

Why would he be 'disappeared' if he's making no challenge to the succession and indeed lives his life outside the country (mainly in Macao if I remember correctly) ? Kim Jong-Un and the other potential power brokers have nothing to fear from him. He has said in the past that he wouldn't accept Jong-un's leadership...he is not going to the funeral because it could be seen as a direct challenge which may cost him his life. That doesn't necessarily mean he won't be making a challenge in the future. It just means he isn't quite keen on dying at the moment. Pure speculation ofcourse...

While I find most of this list rather bland and predictable... I do have to admit that I find the inclusion of Bashir Al-Assad to the 2012 DL... I would consider his death very possible after what happened in Lybia with Gaddafi and the fact that he isn't old, frail or sick when he dies would make the hit even more rewarding in my opinion.... I'm not so sure that he would be a good pick. 1) He is not as isolated as Gaddafi. 2) He'd probably have the good sense to run earlier, unlike Gaddafi. 3) I can't see Nato helping out in this instance - which was the beginning of the end for Gaddafi.

Its his half-brother, Kim Jong-nam, we should be putting on the list. He has said in the past that he wouldn't accept his younger brothers succession. It has also been reported that he will be keeping clear of the funeral in fear that attendance is seen as a challange to his brother's authority. Don't be surprised if he disappears, or has a nasty accident: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/dec/23/north-korea-kim-jong-il-funeral?CMP=NECNETTXT8187

She is now on a breathing machine according to some reports: http://www.nme.com/news/etta-james/61132 The good news is that her affairs are not yet in order...so it's in someones best interest to keep the machine on for the time being.
