I can't help but think people are over-reacting to his death - particularly on facebook. Within about 10 minutes of his death being announced, one of my 'friends' had changed his status to "RIP Steve Jobs", joined an "RIP Steve Jobs" group, and changed his profile picture to a black and white photo of Steve Jobs with writing in the background "Steve Jobs 1955-2011". Anybody would think he knew the guy...

Good call! Not really...when you consider that post was made on 24th August...after he had resigned from Apple...you fucking stupendous dipshit.

She looks as though she could be Michael Jackson's mum. -
To be fair, things weren't looking too bad for him towards the end of 2010. I thought he had gotten through the worst of it.

Away and cut your wrists then...

Shite. There is definitely something shifty about her......on that basis I find her guilty as charged. This case did not receive much attention in Dutch media, since no Dutch were involved. As I understand it, the evidence against ms Knox was: She lived in the same flat as the victim. A person already convicted of the murder says so. Witnesses of dubious reliability say she was around the crime scene at the time of the murder. She's not a nice person, with habits some, or many, people object to. She lied (or was made to lie) to the police. Each item has problems: Establishes opportunty, not guilt. Dubious witness with a clear motive for lying. Dubious witnesses, one apparently a professional one, the other could well have read his testimony in the paper. Being shifty is not evidence of murder. Being a liar is not evidence of murder. Ms Knox may well know more about this sordid affair than she admitted, yet the evidence doesn't make a solid case against her. As forensic evidence was thrown out, because unreliably handled, is seems to me her acquittal is correct under the presumption of innocence. I'm glad the court proved able to think independently from what they read in the papers. regards, Hein You mean, you need hard evidence to prove it? How absurd I can't speak Italian. I'm pretty sure this is what actually happened. Lawyer: "The prosecution has it, your Honour, that the accused is a bit of an annoying cow who likes playing up for the cameras". Judge: "Point taken. She is annoying. She also smells funny. Clatty cow. GUILTY." Knox: "Sob sob sob sob...".

Amanda Knox. Am I the only one who wouldn't mind if her appeal failed even if she is innocent?

It was 20C in Fraserburgh on Friday - which is practically tropical conditions for this area. It rained all day yesterday though, and it seems likley that it will rain all day today so everything is back to normal.

For some reason I thought this was the joke thread when I posted...

It's obvious what has happened here, he has simply let rip a particularly obnoxious fart in a pair of polyester underpants, thus leaving no sign of the eggy accelerant. Citing an episode of South Park, known for its scientific merit, the cause of spontaneous combustion is the complete opposite - holding in one's farts until the mounting pressure becomes too much.

I really need to grow up.

There's hardly anyone on this site these days. And in that vacuum, the reign of error that is notaguest has taken root . To be honest I'm only on here now for the info I need for DDP... Rest assured that root may well have been routed TMIB, but don't hold your breath and check your PM's. I think I may be a tad unpopular in Notaguest's books tonight, but he has been well warned in the past by myself and has taken no heed. Ah. He warned me that there was a ruthless moderator on the prowl.

good call This death was reported back in August...which you then chose to comment on. Was there really any need to bring her up again?

When did you become his official spokesperson? You haven't conformed anything - you've only read about it on the internet.

Aha, logic puzzles. A mathematician would say: First you see exactly one worm. After you cut it in half, you see two half worms. Since half a worm is not equal to a whole one, you don't see a worm anymore, so through the whole episode you saw just one worm. Biologists and philosophers may disagree. It all depends on the question: is an independently living clone of an organism the same organism or not. Stephenson (1930) reports that in specimens of Eisenia fetida it's well possible that both halves of a split worm regenerate the missing bits and live on as two worms, although he did not observe that as a fact. regards, Hein Interesting. The answer certainly isn't two - it has to be one or three. You either have to accept: 1. It will only ever be one decapitated worm. 2. You saw one worm to begin with, then you created another two worms by decapitating the original. It can't be two because when you decapitate it, how do you decided which is the original worm and which is the new worm. They both must count as new worm under that circumstance, or as being the same single original worm? I only posted this because one of my facebook friends was trying to be smart...
