The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous

I thought it was 16, via Josie Grove's death being at that age. I could be wrong though. But yeah, obviously, tragic all round. I think they increased the age because of Josie Grove. Some people thought that choosing under 18s who were famous only for their tragic stories of terminal illness was a step too far. Having just looked at the website, the DDP scoring system has a minimum age of 18. So Pyne wouldn't be eligible for another 2 and a half years, by which time she will almost certainly be dead. -
It said on the World Service he was too frail to attend. I have a very strong feeling he will depart this moral coil very soon, maybe within weeks.I had the same feeling about Michael Foot in the weeks before his death You had that same feeling about Michael Foot for 4 years...before he died aged 96. I have a very strong feeling that Mandela will depart 'this mortal coil' very soon too. Mainly because he is 92 and frail...hardly a breathtaking prediction.

Alice Olivia Pyne was born in January 1996 in the county of Westmorland. So she'd be 16 in January 2012. I thought the lower age limit for DDP was 18? -
He has been knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours. Probably prompted by his Nobel Prize. It will be interesting to see if he is well enough to attend the ceremony.

Now it's Sir Bruce Forsyth. He has been knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Being a sexist and racist bastard...do you mean being a comedian? Some of my favourites from Prince Philip: “So who’s on drugs here?... HE looks as if he’s on drugs.” - At a Bangladeshi youth club in 2002. To Andrew Adams, 13, in 1998: “You could do with losing a little bit of weight.” On smoke alarms to a woman who lost two sons in a fire, 1998: “They’re a damn nuisance - I’ve got one in my bathroom and every time I run my bath the steam sets it off.” To Simon Kelner, republican editor of The Independent, at Windsor Castle reception: “What are you doing here?” “I was invited, sir.” Philip: “Well, you didn’t have to come.”

Kay Burley from Sky News. Someone should tell her that her opinion doesn't matter...

Interesting article. So Sarah Palin is going to Sudan?

It's still not working on Internet Explorer. It won't let me download the most recent Adobe Flash Player. I have since discoved that Youtube is working when I use Google Chrome. So I suppose that will have to do.

I finally bought a new laptop today to replace the one which died on me a couple of months back. Anyway - it all seems to be working fine, but for one reason or another it won't let me watch youtube videos. All I get is a blank black rectangle where the video should be. I'm sure there will probably be a really obvious solution, but I'm rubbish with computers. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The news has been confirmed by Libyan TV. Several of Gadaffis grandchildren were also killed.Looks like Gadaffi himself may have just narowly avoided death. I wonder what impact this will have . Berlusconi says that Saif al-Arab is not dead. He says all evidence suggests that Saif al-Arab isn't even living in Libya. It looks like it was propaganda after all. Apparently the daughter Gadaffi claimed was killed by American airstrikes in the 1980s is still alive also.

From the Nelson Mandela thread: From the Zsa Zsa Gabor thread: So, in summary, that's a 95 year-old dying within three years, a 92 year-old dying 'soon', an 85 year-old in poor health dying within 3 years and a 94 year-old with numerous well-documented health problems dying within 'a lot less than 3 years'. At this rate I'll give iain 3 months...tops.

It is off topic. Margaret Thatcher's death and funeral has nothing to do with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
-
Dead. ...if that obit constitutes as something more than rumour.
-
He would appear to be in poor physical and mental condition, so perhaps it was a not so bad stab in the dark. I think I stuck him on my list in 2007 because there were rumours he was suffering from liver disease or something. Might be a good bet for 2012 - if he follows the example of Slobodan Milosevic.

That's my Mum's birthday. Might put a slight bummer on festivities that day.. Are you going to take the gamble and not bother buying her a gift?

Margaret Thatcher was the only living former Prime Minister not to attend Barack Obama's address to Parliament, stating ill health.
-
That's it. I think we can say what we want about Ryan Giggs and Imogen Thomas now. He was named in parliament about 10 minutes ago by John Hemming MP, and now it's all over sky news.

Either that or the Evangelicals have unwittingly created a surge of business for abortion clinics.

The best part is that if he had let the newspaper run with the story the whole mess would probably have blown over in a week. Now he just looks like an absolute twat.

Are you .... the Salmon Mousse!!! ? Salmond Moose? aka Moira Salmond?

What useless post? I presume he/she now means two useless posts. I can see three useless posts now.

Hey Windsor, you should be careful writing stuff like this, after all, it's so easy for someone else to tamper with your posts! ;-) You don't want to find yourself being sued for your student loan by a chimp-like Welsh has-been! Given what has happened on twitter today it would probably take 25 years for my case to make it to court...I think I'm safe. By the way - although we can't officially say who is banging who, would it be alright to say that Ryan Giggs is suing twitter? Or does he have a super-injunction for that as well?

Six hours later and that seems to be the only article claiming that she has woken up. Could be a red herring. Reading between the lines I think the doctorswho have pretty much given up on treating her, are giving him the option of taking her home to die but he has.sn't fully grasped whats going on.It's quite touching how much he loves her even in that condition. He just can't accept that this might finally be the end I don't think it's got anything to do with love. If she dies, he will virtually have no press coverage after the funeral. They are z-listers already. When she dies, he becomes a complete nobody.
