Indeed. A higher power has dictated what we can and cannot speak about. Edit: I suppose I could join Twitter...
-
It would seem you can also get a deathlist superinjunction.
-
You more or less posted the same message at 5am this morning. Is there any need for you to tell us twice in two different threads?

This is all he deserves for deserting the Great Leader. This one about the same guy? Most Likely. I really must start taking my dementia medication...

So Gordon Brown's relationship with God was closer than we thought it seems... as always the first thing anyone says when an MP dies is , how big was his majority? Isn't he the second anti-Brown rebel to die since Brown lost office (I can recall making a post saying someone deserved to die for crossing our Great Leader. Anyway - this could be very convenient for Andy Kerr who lost his seat in the Scottish Parliament on Thursday... Cairns used to be a Catholic Priest...before taking up with his boyfriend.

"State funerals are reserved for monarchs but may, by order of the reigning monarch, be granted to other national heroes". Since when was this witch a national hero??? They don't have to be national 'heroes'. The fact that she was a) Britain's first Prime Minister, was Prime Minister for over 10 years, c) reclaimed the Falklands, would probably do it. Not to mention the fact that the Tories are back. ahem! I thought that was generally held to be Walpole. Yes - I meant female Prime Minister... I think it's more likely that Thatcher will get a Ceremonial Funeral, which isn't quite a State Funeral. The Queen Mother had a Ceremonial Funeral. If she didn't get a State Funeral, I think it's unlikely that Thatcher will get one. In practice, there is virtually no difference between the two types of funeral. Questions from an ignorant colonial - what is the difference between State and Ceremonial and which did Diana end up having? From wikipedia: As I said - there is virtually no difference. Cheers - yes, I was too lazy to go to Wikipedia. Speaking of which, even though you blokes wouldn't even give the Queen Mum a state funeral, we are more than happy to dish one out to Lionel Rose, it seems: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/05/09/3211937.htm Yes, but Australian State Funerals are rubbish...

I don't think they'd be stupid enough to bury her in a place accessable to the public with no supervision. She'll probably end up under a slab at St. Paul's Cathedral.

There are now twitter rumours that she has died...but you know what twitter is like.
-
With all the coverage of the Royal Wedding and now the coverage of the death of Osama bin Laden, you may have forgotten about the upcoming electoral system referendum. So come the 5th of May how will you vote on the issue? Regardless of the outcome, will it finish off the Coalition? Do you care enough to turn up at a polling station?
-
So the no camp wins. I think this is the first time I've voted for the winning side ever. More than can be said for my vote in the Scottish Parliamentary Elections...

"Camilla once slept with a black man, and she said it was THIS big."
-
With all these hospital trips, if I didn't know better I'd swear she had Munchausen syndrome The Prinz must have decided that bin Laden was stealing too much of the limelight...
-
I saw him performing on the One Show. He looked like a singing praying mantis...
-
No, it's because there are only two options, so FPTP is entirely adequate for the purpose. Don't worry HCW. I noticed the humorous intention of your post.
-
Besides...he was busy trying to kill bin Laden at the time. The final operation was in its early stages while the wedding was taking place. So its probably a good thing he wasn't invited...
-
Actually it looks like I won't be voting at all. I took up a late job as a polling clerk. It is not at my own polling station, and I will be unable to leave the polling station I have been posted to in order to cast my vote. By the time I was appointed, it was too late to apply for a postal vote. I applied for a proxy vote but a letter arrived this morning saying I missed the cut off date. So at present, I am unable to vote. I will, though, make an attempt to vote at the polling station I'm on duty at. Apparently you can do that even though its not your designated polling station...

I would have thought escaping their husbands would be reward enough...
-
I'll give you that one. If only because you spelt realises correctly. I see?
-
I fail to see how winning with 2nd preference votes makes an MP more legitimate. If he only got say 30% of the vote to begin with, 70% of his constituents still voted against him at the first instance. I'm also quite happy with the UK having 2.5 political parties...its suits my interest. In also hate Nick Clegg, and would like to see his face when he realises he sold his soul for nothing...
-
Yes. I thought it best to phrase the question in that manner because some members don't actually have a vote. I will be voting no, and believe the no camp will win.
-
I'm pretty sure he is dead. They would have killed him off years ago if declaring him dead was so easy.
-
It could well be Osama. If he was killed in the early hours of 2nd May BST, then he's number 1000... EDIT: Time of death must be based on where he was, not GMT/BST. However, If he died in Pakistan, as it is several hours ahead of UK/USA, then there's a fair chance he did die in Pakistan on 2nd May... According to an article on the BBC he must have been killed between 9-10pm BST on 1st May. Thats 1am on 2nd May in Pakistan Looks like Twitter has a use after all.
