    Sir Anthony Hopkins

    Tempus?
  3. Isn't that what you would say if you were involved? Poor Tempus! Before we file a missing persons' report, shouldn't we keep in mind that he's only been absent for, like, 12 days? I admit his absence is more notable given his usual posting volume, but 12 days isn't even a fortnight's holiday. (Though if truth be told, I agree with nap: that's he's lurking about, absolutely f*cking loving every minute of the debate. Hello Tempus )
  4. We like this o-matic! My first was: WILL GORDON BROWN STRIP THE MEMORY OF DIANA OF ALL DIGNITY? My second was: WILL LESBIANS INFECT THE QUEEN WITH AIDS? Enquiring minds want to know.
  5. I was goingto take this test, as I'm very attracted to the name "Belief-O-Matic". But I read the first page of questions and take issue with the fact that atheistic beliefs and agnostic beliefs appear to have been lumped together willy-nilly. I consider myself neither atheist nor agnositc, but if I were either, I'd be pretty pissed off that my belief system was so dismissed as to be chucked into a category with other, total disimilar ones. Hmmm... I think I committed more thought to this than was expected. I wish I owned the trademark for "belief-o-matic". Or anything "o-matic", really.
  6. That's funny... for me, I think I'd prefer the opposite. Nice toasty climate, surrounded by people who are so good they'd do anything I ask.

    Near misses 2006

I'd imagine it would have been quite a suprise for McLennan himself. He was probably dreaming about what he was going to do the next morning. I have no idea who he is, but I hope for his sake that he was dreaming something far more exciting than that!
  8. Normal, F**k it, I'm quitting right now if we aspire to be normal! Normal is reading the Daily Mail and believing it, normal is getting clothes in BHS and feeling good because they're comfy, normal is........ Whatever, I hate it. F*cking hell! Since when is shopping at BHS for clothing normal? I don't know anyone who purchases clothing from there, let alone finds them comfy. 'Normal' is subjective. I find people who try really hard to 'not be normal' tacky and fake.

    Queen Elizabeth II

"Tupperware" Party running late HCW? laugh......out........loud... Gone now. I don't remember why I didn't do it at the appionted hour A likely story.
  10. I was on holiday and couldn't resist hopping in an Internet cafe and have a coffee and browse on DL... Phew! I'm so pleased to hear that I'm not the only one... I was worried there was something wrong with me , but apparently I'm perfectly normal .
  11. You Are Kermit Hi, ho! Lovable and friendly, you get along well with everyone you know. You're a big thinker, and sometimes you over think life's problems. Don't worry - everyone know's it's not easy being green. Just remember, time's fun when you're having flies! Excellent... I've always been a big fan of the banjo.

...... ....................... ...... ....................... .. @@ ....................... :electr2: ...... ....................... .. ...... appy belated . irthdays! TLC: it was lovely to meet one of the birthday boys - in the flesh, as it were - tonight. Hope the hangover isn't too dramatic... ff: soz to hear about the shocker of a day. Hope tonight more than makes up for it... Hippos and Birdies to you both!
  13. Ah, how I remember 20:02-20.02.2002. Good times... good times. I have a thing for palindromes. However, not as much of a thing as JK27: I don't have a favourite palindrome. But if I did, it would probably be "Madam, I'm Adam". I mean, I'm not Adam. But I could be.
  14. I noticed Mr Fugit's absence a few days ago when, checking the 'Today's Top 10 Posters' list, I noticed something amiss and realised that it was the absence of the words 'Tempus Fugit' somewhere towards the top of the screen. My first thought was that he was on hols. M second thought was: I can't imagine Tempus on holiday! But then my third thought was that I bet he's gone somewhere really beautiful, hot, sunny, etc., and is currently sitting in the shade, fully dressed, drinking alcoholic beverages involving fruit juice, paper umbrellas, and maraschino cherries, reading some dark and depressing literature, hating the other tourists, and just generally being cumugeonly. The perfect Fugitive holiday...

    Titanic Survivors

Lillian Gertrud Asplund is the only living survivor Lance, Could you provide some documentary evidence to this effect? You could singlehandedly nip this debate in the bud. Ta much!

    Titanic Survivors

How odd. I'm sure I heard somewhere that Lillian Gertrud Asplund and Barbara Joyce West are still alive as well. Can't remember where, though.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

Hm... an idea and/or possibility for 2007, perhaps? [Merged -- MH]

    John Kenneth Galbraith

A real shame, this miss on our part. However, it seems to me that this marks an end to the dearth of death. Even though he wasn't technically on the list, he has been in the past and probably would have been in the future. Plus, he did make the rounds deadpool-wise. So I think his death counts, in principle at least.

    Billionaire Has Terminal Cancer

Really? I reckon the death of a billionaire Scotsman, running amok in conservation areas, would be enough to get him an obit in a respected Brit paper. Isn't that the one-and-only DL famous enough category? I peg him as one to monitor for 2007. Live, Paul, live!

    Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries Etc...2006

May I also offer my congrats!! to the Phantom phamily. Not your typical fantom pregnancy then... It seems to me that DLers are producing off-spring left, right, and centre at the mo. And what with the recent/in-the-near-future DL nuptuals, perhaps more DL babies will be forthcoming presently? Ah, a whole new generation to carrry on the traditions of the DL...
  23. This looks sooooo disgusting, yet soooooo goooooooooood... To return to this deliciously tasty tidbit, I heard the founder of Pimp My Snacks interviewed on the CBC today. When asked to define what "pimping" a snack actually means, he defined it as the "gigantisation" of snacks. Can't go wrong with a bit of giganticising... especially when it comes to snacks.

    Paul Hunter

I've never really understood the use of this phrase as an insult. I mean, does it not necessarily imply that the speaker him or herself is and/or will also be in hell? In which case, they themselves cannot be of particularly high moral standards. In which case, perhaps they should focus less on the words/actions of others, and work a bit more on their own personal betterment. I am reminded of the words voiced by an old friend of mine, who, by utilising his aural mastery, can lead us all to finding the better man inside each of us: I'm starting with the man in the mirror. I'm asking him to change his ways. And no message could have been any clearer: if you wanna make the world a better place... take a look at yourself, and then make a change (na na na, na na na, na na, na nah). I think we should all take a moment to ponder the depths of this message. I know I will be. And so will my wife.

but if he dies under mysterious circumstances, where will Quincy be to figure out what really happened? I'm sure Sam would step up and sort those baddies out. Or quite possibly Peter Falk, still going strong at 78.
