Things seem to be fine for me. Although the times on the posts seem to be kind of f*cked up.

Same problem over here. Seems universal. Things do seem a bit sluggish at the mo.

Your Least Impressive Celebrity Encounters
in eternum+ replied to Phantom's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I have never met anyone famous per se. However, last August when I was in the Brussels train station on my way to a friend's wedding, I sat next to a tableful of the band Basement Jaxx. I never would have recognised them were it not for someone holding a plackard with their name on it (like the one chauffers hold when people get off planes). Once I realised it was them, I couldn't stop staring, even though I tried not to (I think the keyboard player is pretty hot). This is the only occassion in my life, thus far, that I've come anywhere near having any contact with anyone famous. Come to think of it, there's a strong possibility I've encountered numerous other famous people, but I have terrible powers of recognition so even if I'd tripped over them I wouldn't have realised it. Unless they were holding a plackard with their name on it, of course... Acknowledgments: I'd like to thank HCW and Bou for their help, which led to my being able to post this message -

Things To Do While Waiting For Death... 2006
in eternum+ replied to honez's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
WE GOT ONE FOR THE THUMB!!! And may I say what an excellent game it was as well! Did you see that second Pittsburgh touchdown? Quality! Pittsburgh is a VERY happy place right now - much honking and waving of Terrible Towels is ensuing as I type. Go Steelers! BTW - The Rolling Stones played the halftime show. Boy, were they looking a bit worse for wear! A couple of them even looked like they were being propped up in place, hardly able to move, let alone 'rock'. -
Sounds like a good time was had by all - I bet your friends were so pleased they decided to get together with you.

Pray for a Steelers victory tonight: Our father who art in Pittsburgh Football be thy name Thy kingdom come Four superbowls won On earth as it is in Heinz Field. Give us this day a victory! And forgive us our penalties as we defeat those who play against us. And lead us into victory, And deliver us to Detroit. - Rev Jorge GO STEELERS! -

Looks like one or two of the admins paid Gretnagod (original instigator of the deletion movement) 'a visit' recently. Virtual or otherwise...

Ta-much! Um... so... does that mean that this ranter's score is... 34*/100? *Note: I pulled this number out of thin air. I believe there is some dividing which occurs? -

May I say that the fact that you got off your 'bum' and tried to do something about the situation holds you high in my esteem. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who actually takes action as you did has optimum ranting rights. -

[1] The post contains one or more threats of physical violence. Warnings are considered threats I have never completely understood the complexities of the DLRI, and thought that this might be as good a time as any to try and figure it out. Do aspirations comprise threats? Where the ranter suggests that s/he 'hopes' we all die etc., does this constitute implied possible action? I mean, I could say that I 'hope' young CLS graduates this year (as I'm sure he will...) but does that necessarily mean I'm suggesting that I'm going to track him down and pop his clogs for him? Am trying to learn; from what I understand, the DL is not just entertainment, it's also an education. Oh - and TF, may I belatedly congratulate you on once again boldly venturing forth into unchartered waters. Hm... kind of like Ms Lister did... ................... ................... .................... :electr2: ................... ................... ................... ................... -
Hm. I find their claim slightly dubious, seeing as how they appear to have omitted the all-important 'farming/gardening' category.

Fair enough. Let me know if anything further occurs. I find the Wiki site a bit confusing to navigate and operate!
-
I'm afraid I don't know what this means. Who decides if somethnig gets deleted? Should I write some other point of argument? Does it do any good? Who is this 'Gretnagod' person anyway, and what the hell is their problem with us??
-
I agree of course. But do we really need three threads??
-
May I also make the humble request to our fine and upstanding moderators that two of the three Richard O'Sullivan threads be deleted or merged. One Dicky O thread is truly enough.

My opinion of some of the more recently joined members is so low that I wonder if there shouldn't be a more stringent screening process for potential members. Like some sort of probationary period. If they are the product of 'free speech', then free speech be damned.

I don't really understand the whole 'Dickie O' fanaticism, but that's scandalous. Am disgusted.

There is an interesting-looking talk happening next week at the University of Bath called Dead sexy: post-disaster/terrorism voyeurism and the corpse, pop culture's new porn star: The interesting-looking talk -
I note that the warning has been removed. Does this mean that the Deathlist entry now passes the Wiki test?
