I'm not. Why thank you, I hope so too.

He's definetely not a people person. Seriously though, I mean, I've yet to meet a person, young or old, who thinks he's doing a good job. How is he still in power again? Calgary and all of rural Alberta. I am from Edmonton.

Enlighten me. My housemate hasn't paid the cable bill in a long time. The theme of the documentary was: look at all that lovely oil just sitting there waiting for us to come and get it, which will save our country from the fossil fuel crisis. What silly sods we've been! Here it's been on our doorstep for all this time; why didn't we think of raping and pillaging Alberta before? Thank goodness that clever Texan [whose name is T-Bone something-or-other] is there, to make sure we will get more than our fair share. I appreciate that I am currently in America, and the programme was geared towards the US, but it was just so "looking out for Number One with complete disregard to who or what might get damaged along the way". And with f*cking Ralph Klein as the Premier, the sad fact is that it's probably going to happen (although someone told me today that China has bought something like 48% of tar sands stock or some such). Ridiculous. And don't even get me started on Ralph Klein... I mean, I thought he had a good plan to begin with, but now that his province is out of debt, he's completely f*****g it up. He needs to be replaced by someone competent instead of pure idealist. It is not even possible for me to express via language the hatred and contempt I feel for Ralph bloody Klein. He abused Albertans in order to get our province debt-free, and now has the gall to say that it was his government (and not the almost unlimited crude oil the province is literally built on) that is responsible for it! Did you know that when he first came to power, one of his ways of reducing the level of unemployment in the province was to offer every unemployed person a one-way Greyhound ticket out so long as they never returned? I mean really!

Gute Nacht. regards, Hein Does that translate to your IP address has been banned?

Believe it or not, I have very little opinion about recent Canadian politics, as I've not had that much time to follow all the debates. In elections American or Canadian, I always start myself out neutral and look for a candidate who has what I'm looking for and the party that s/he represents. Right now, I think Canada needs a leader who is strong enough to stand up when necessary, but also... I don't know what word I'm looking for here... friendly?... enough to keep Canada on par with its reputation. Whether that's Conservative, Liberal, NDP or Green, whoever can do that is my guy/gal. We need two things right now. We need a stronger stance against Iran concerning that murdered woman and we need someone who will work towards the United States abiding by the NAFTA agreement on softwood lumber. I'll expand more if discussion is requested, but I'm not certain how much people here care. That's my brief two cents though. I care. Did you see that disastrous thing on 60 minutes last night on the oil sands? It made me very derpressed.

Oops, missed that. Well. it's not as in Die flambierte Frau, what they mean is this. regards, Hein By God I think I have been flamed! At least, there's been flaming going on all around me and I had no idea. My mom once gave me a cookbook devoted entirely to barbequing called Let The Flames Begin!. With this new meaning, it's almost like a call to arms...

Well said. US Football is similar to the touch rugby that Josco Junior II plays at prep school. Only I expect JJ II doesn't need half his own body weight in padding to play his version of the game. Admittedly, American football is not my favourite sport, predominantly because I don't fully understand it: there's a whole lotta 'downs' and the only thing I know for sure is that they stop A LOT. However, having lived in Cheltenham for the past five years, where none of the local teams (all of whom I give my full support to) have really gotten anywhere spectacular, it's quite exciting to live in a place where one of the local teams is whoopin' some butt. On this note, I heard a rumour that Cheltenham Spa is set to play Manchester United in one of the FA cup rounds. Anyone over there know if this is true? I saw that they are scheduled to play Newcastle this coming weekend, but could find nothing else.

Indeed, although I like the R-- and G-- too. regards, Hein, who got flamed several times And of course, PGP+ goes without saying... Again, I have no idea what it means, but I'm feeling a bit jealous about your being 'flamed' several times. Kinda sounds like fun.

Just so far over my head, that one. UNGEEK 3.1 -- Geek Code v3.1 Interpreter HTH, HAND, Hein Ooof! Who woulda thought being a geek was such hard work? After over an hour, this is the geek me. ----ie+ in geek---- GSS$ d-@ s: a- C++ U---? P-? L? N-- W+(++) o- K- w+ M-- V-- PS(++) PE- Y PGP+ t 5(--) X+ R-- tv+ b+++ DI--- D- G-- e+++(*) h r--- x ----end of ie+ in geek---- The fact that I haven't heard of most of the computer programmes referred to pretty much says it all; however, in the spirit of the code, if I didn't know what was being talked about, I simply chose the answer that I wish were the case. I am particularly fond of the response: I sent my question to the wrong group and got flamed. I've never been 'flamed' before...

PITTSBURGH'S GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL - HERE WE GO! HERE WE GO! HERE WE GO, STEELERS, HERE WE GO! PITTSBURGH'S GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL! Like that? I am happy for your team, ie+. Coach Bill Cower has done a great job. Lets hope that they win the Superbowl in 2 weeks. It will be a tough fight, as they will be playing Seattle. Regards, ff Why thank you! They're only my team of late, well the past four months really. But when in Rome...! The only two football teams with which I have any association whatsoever have both done very well this year: The Edmonton Eskimos won ths Grey Cup, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to win the Superbowl. The game today was great, and the superbowl should be fantastic. Go Steelers!

And with my 30th birthday party coming up, this couldn't have come at a better time... -
Perhaps just a trifle over-subtle for the late night audience! Okay. I still don't get it, but shall withdraw my Himlerian accusation and blame the Chambord instead.
-
There appears to have been a recent spate of people not understanding other peoples' jokes on this thread. I must admit that I don't get this one. It's either me, Himler, or the Chambord. Shall lay fault with Himler on this occassion.

Hm. I seem to remember you once berating me for making a similarly crass comment. I shall now return the criticism: [shaking head and making 'tch' sound] Well really. [/shaking head and making 'tch' sound] I have no recollection of that incident yer honour. I do. Yes you're right, http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?...indpost&p=27631 What a hypocritical gobshite I am. Well done - I was wondering how long it would take you to find it. 22 minutes... not bad... not bad at all.

I read this thread title as 'Bill Clinton's Cat's Socks' and couldn't see the relevance of it. Now that I understand what it's all about, I still don't see it...

Yes, OofO, many sympathies for your loss.

Aw... but come on guys... he has a great hairstyle. You know, maybe we should consider taking him off the list... what with the great hairstyle and all. Really... what were we thinking?

1. I pass. 2. I used to pass but now I fail. Unless, of course, you count the swift and repeated movement of my right leg between the gas pedal and the brake. 3. I pass, more or less. 4. I used to fail, but now I pass. 5. Not entirely sure, but given that three of my grandparents were dead before I was born, the fourth died when I was twelve, and my father died in 1993, I'd say I pretty much fail on this point. Overall, I don't give myself much longer... but I'm feeling very upbeat about it.

A very impressive collection! Though it lets itself down a bit, as our forum is not listed.

Just heard! That's so sad... WP
