Yes, a HUGE shock, as big a surprise as David Bowie. He was the BEST actor in the Harry Potter films. Of course he did have the best part! Very sad to see this- http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/15/obituaries/alan-rickman-dies-at-69.html?smid=fb-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=0

Minimalists (and other classical composers/musicians)
chiesa52 replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
Oh, I get it! Yes, I had a feeling for quite awhile that he might be a candidate- and he made it to 95! They say that conductors live for a long time because all of that arm waving is good aerobic exercise! -
YoungWillz must be really pissed off this week. I agree ha ha, especially as I specifically name-checked chiesa52 in my post in minimalists! You DID???? LOL

Sir David Willcocks, famous British Choral Conductor, has died- he directed the Bach Choir and was head of the Royal College of music, and did the music for Charles and Di's wedding- a very old guy, born in 1919- http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-34281143

Jimmy Carter has Melanoma that has metastesized to his brain he said today- article says that if the radiation and chemo don't do the trick, people survive for an average of 11 months before it kills them- so it might be smart to put him on the list for 2016! http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/08/20/former-president-jimmy-carter-says-cancer-has-spread-to-his-brain/?tid=sm_fb
-
It says the cancer has metastisized to other parts of his body- the question now is, how fast is the doubling time of this cancer? He may live until next year, but I think he definitely needs to be on next year's list if he survives... the one best treatment for cancer is physical removal, if chemo leaves only a few resistant cells, they will grow into tumors that are resistant to that form of chemo- and then they try others that don't work as well, and so on - it's eventually a losing battle most of the time- sorry to hear it he's a good guy

Here's the latest on Valerie Harper: a statement put out by the Ogonquin Playhouse, where she has been working: it clears up a lot of nonsense! Makes Entertainment Tonight look kind of stupid! http://www.ogunquitplayhouse.org/2015-press/valerie-harper

Entertainment Tonight has a source that says it is "Not Good" Being found unconscious certainly is a bad sign! https://celebrity.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-valerie-harper-rushed-hospital-151600647.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=fb&fb_ref=Default

I'm sure he had a thread of his own. We should start a thread for the main protaganists in Columbo because Theodor Bikel is the latest of many to die this year along with Leonard Nimoy and Louis Jourdan I looked for a thread for him but couldn't find any! I was surprised!!!! The articles say he was very healthy up to the end though, so maybe he slipped through the cracks!
