Except the Yanks presumably can’t tell Peter Kay from King Ralph

The prospect of no further Max and Paddy episodes is a definite positive

    Dead Drummers

Well I guess he’ll have been pretty thoroughly “wormed” by now

    Paul Gascoigne

Gazza’s sperm probably couldn’t find its way to the egg, too busy throwing up in the lungs

    Wrestlers/actors

Or it could be due to the fact that the barely mobile, fifty something Big Daddy was still being billed as the star attraction, and by that point was reduced to tag matches where his partner had to do all the work. British wrestling was a joke when it was axed off ITV in 1988, had become a piss-poor no-budget WWF knock off with lame angles like Kendo Nagasaki ‘hypnotising’ his opponents

    Ant McPartlin

Well I think it’s totally irresponsible for blind people to drive

    Valerie Harper

In a priory/hospice kinda way perhaps

    Kevin Smith

    Sounds like advanced role play

    Kevin Smith

Oh yeah didn’t think of the great PT Anderson. I was thinking more of the auteurs of the early 90s like Hal Hartley, Alison Anders, Rodriguez etc who have mainly disappeared or faded into irrelevance. At least with Dogma Smith was still attempting something bold, but with every movie thereafter he just descended further into self-indulgence, like he wanted to dodge anything daring or contentious

    Kevin Smith

That’s just an excuse. Peckinpah, among many others, churned out many great efforts when he was fucked off his face

I remember when Clerks came out, it was an exciting period for US indie cinema. From that era, can only think of Tarantino and Linklater who still make relevant movies, Smith burned out relatively quickly

    Franco Zeffirelli

In fairness, he is said to be the basis of Uncle Monty’s charcter in Withnail & I, due to Bruce Robinson’s experiences of him...

    Ken Dodd

His hospitalisation was the main story on the BBC north west news, wondered whether that means they think he may shortly croak, said he’s been in since last Friday...

    Stan Lee

He has his own unique way of alerting the staff - “ding dong”

    Thoughts On The 2018 List

After last year they’ve got a lot to live up to, if that’s the right turn of phrase

    The 18th Death of 2017

Like the old joke goes, “where was the first place John Lennon went when he had a bit of cash? The airport”

    Leah Bracknell

    Discussing funeral arrangements perhaps?

Been To Any Good Gigs Lately?

Saw Rocket From The Crypt, Bananarama and the Prodigy all within the space of a fortnight. All very enjoyable, except made the mistake of going in the front section at Prodigy gig, after getting tossed around like a black teenage girl with learning difficulties who’d wandered into a Donald Trump rally I safely retreated further back
