Ideas And Possibilities For 2013
angryGreatness replied to The Unknown Man's topic in DeathList Forum
Waiting for guest gloating in 3, 2,... -
Major death in America, only second to Whitney Houston this year. I think him, Robin Gibb, and a 3rd will form the "Deaths Come in 3's" rule.
-
Daniel von Bargen, whose roles include those in TV series Seinfeld and Malcolm in the Middle and movies like Super Troopers has attempted suicide by gunshot and remains in critical condition. Von Bargen suffers from diabates, and has already has one leg removed and was about to have surgery to remove some toes on his remaining foot.

I'd say the 21st.
-
He's had a benign lesion removed from his vocal cords. Apparently caused by acid reflux, which I don't think has anything to do with the lysergic experiences he probably enjoyed down at Big Pink. "Levon Helm is in the final stages of his battle with cancer" I give him until the end of summer. Shame, The Band are criminally underrated.

Famed ALS researcher and now victim Dr. Richard Olney has been dead since January 27th. Teams "George Lass and the Gravelings" and "Toasted Brown Bread" both picked him, and will probably recieve zero points.
-
While I still think Megrahi's on death's door, it's almost a certainty that Gibb will die first now.

Illinois man drowned by a swan.

Doesn't seem like he's exactly skipping out of that hospital. Sometimes when a patient knows he has a very short time left they'll request to be allowed to leave in order for them to die in their home rather than an uncomfortable hospital room with tubes in every orifice. I think this is one of those times.

CNN has the "Through the Years" slideshow up on their report. Which is usually their way of saying "This article is going to be an obituary in a few hours." They did it with Joe Paterno a few months back. Me and a bunch of teams are about to cash their Jokers... Before we update the front page, can we please get Etta James and John Demjanjuk's articles up? Or at least give Demjanjuk a fucking pun?

Celebrity is anyone who gets an obit.

Seems I was right, as Chavez is going to Cuba for more radiotherapy. For those keeping score at home, this is the 3rd recurrence.
-
Chavez has apparently tearfully begged Jesus Christ to "not take him yet" during a Thursday mass. Not the kind of thing you'd expect to hear from a man who claims to be on the mend.

African Leaders - Despots and Democratic
angryGreatness replied to Cowboy Ronnie's topic in DeathList Forum
He's not dead - yet - but he IS in ICU after a cardiac arrest - http://www.bbc.co.uk...africa-17628591 His cabinet and doctors are now officially saying Mutharika has died. 2 current African leaders dead this year, let's hope Mugabe gives us a hat trick. -
American losing presidential candidate George McGovern has been hospitalized for "brief transient spells where he passes out and becomes verbally unresponsive." McGovern will be 90 in July.

New photos have been taken of Manson before his new parole hearing.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and 4 other conspirators could face the death penalty. -
Out of the hospital.

Joe Scarpa, better known as Chief Jay Strongbow, who wrestled in the 1970's has died aged 83. Two theme teams on the DDP picked him this year. Obit incoming.
-
I also dropped JoePa in favor of more likely and younger picks. I managed to put him on my theme team though. I also dropped Jim Stynes (Figured he'd live a bit longer), Gregory Powell (Too obscure), James Murphy (Tumor is benign), and a couple others I can't remember. Wish I kept JoePa and Stynes on, especially since Russell Means is cancer-free.

There'll be at least one more death. Tariq Aziz has a rope with his name on it that'll be used sometime in the fall.

, creator of the online flash animation series Eddsworld, has died after a battle with leukemia. He was 24. Eddsworld is currently the highest viewed channel in the United Kingdom’s comedy and film/animation category and has brought in over 73,000,000 collective video views. It is also the most subscribed comedian channel in the United Kingdom with over 374,000 subscribers.

Gallagher has decided to give up stand-up comedy, focusing instead on writing.
-
Considering I dropped him from my team at the last second, part of me hopes he doesn't get an obituary.

Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists

Antonio Leitao, a Portuguese athlete who took the Bronze the 1984 in the 5000 meter, has died aged 51 of an overload of iron in his blood, oddly enough. No English obit.
