Given the high standards to which we (well, some of us ) aspire on this web site, and the grammatical, spelling, style and generally pedantic points-of-order which many of us take pleasure in meting out incessantly, I was dismayed when, finally, I read the DeathList intro' for 2005. May I suggest the following changes: "So here’re the carefully selected candidates for DeathList 2005. To summarize the idea behind DeathList: The DeathList committee draws up (the) DeathList at the end of each year with the objective of selecting the most celebrities who will die in the next calendar year. The list comprises 50 celebrities, with no more than 25 who appeared on the previous year's list. The 2004 list had 12 successes, but was unable to overhaul the record of 14 set in 2003. How will the 2005 runners and riders fare?" LP3 N.B. I hope to hell that I haven't gaffed. For all you pedants out there, I do not recommend that my suggested changes are implemented in red, nor that the extra punctuation is particularly large. The quotes can be lost too.

Been bugging me for a while, pedant that I am. Grim Reaper was the first to register in Sept 2003 but is member #2. Did someone "off" the first member and was he/she on a DeathList? Larry.

Quite. A Shipman should know better. -
That's irony, that is. May he rot in hell.

He'll be missed. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4328834.stm

Gutted. But at least we'll get loads of repeats.

You're not kidding. When he was Master of Emmanuel College at Cambridge in the early 90s, all students were invited round for tea. His look-at-my-collection of royal family Xmas cards was vomit-worthy even without being neatly arranged around a picture of some poor African famine victim (whom no doubt he once met on some useless visit). Oh and forget Andrew. Golf Alpha Yankee sums up NSJS perfectly. As does creep, hypocrite and sycophant. And I have met him.

Anyone heard why Stuart Maconie is covering for three weeks at the moment? Normally they say "as Johnny's on holiday" or something like that, but this time absolutely nada. -
I think it was Dodi and Diana on the same day...

Well, I've finally seen Pete Doherty in action. Not exactly a life-changing event. Shame he won't last long. And for once, posting completely on topic, I can add that he gets my vote for DL 2006. Or at least for Greasy pasty white junky 2006...

Ok. Here's a thread to discuss, amongst other elitist topics, the number of posts applicable to the various levels of DL contributeur. My insider source has revealed the thresholds as they stand at the moment: Morbid interest 0 Undertaker 4 Hatchet Man 7 Assassin 10 Sniper 50 Executioner 100 To get the ball rolling, I suggest the following re-classification: Morbid interest 0 Undertaker 5 Hatchet Man 10 Assassin 25 Sniper 50 Executioner 100 plus addition of the following: Dr. Shipman* (approx.) 250 Devil's Spawn 500 Death Incarnate 1000 LP3 * Nice one Rude Kid

The first of the next LP generation. Unaccustomed to birth. Death more my thing in an apocalypic sort of way. Ask St. John... Notaspud: thanks for the summary. HCW: As I'm sure you've seen, Stayin' popped up on the disappearance thread yesterday. LP3 -
What happened to OMJ/Terminator

I'm sure many people would prefer a nice cup of tea to some sex of the particular variety to which Boy George is allegedly partial I can not think why this subject should arise on this particular thread? One of those 'slips' I suppose. At least all is finally explained. Larry Naive III -

Looking after newbie LP4 Plus got a bit tired of teutonic/religious rants. Plus the number of posts per day started to get impossible to keep track of. So who else has disappeared? -
