If I had 50 that made the game then she was a sub just in case the others left early and my subs would have been arranged in preference order but I can see why you might want to recognise she was on people radar I actually changed my team for this game to remove some of the more obscure picks from my shadow list but it ends up with my shadow list doing better than the theoretically more competitive teams

My Twitter followers have decided this will be the finishing positions in the Premier League come May 2023

In Game V there will be stricter rules regarding English Obits (No obit = No hit) A sub required in each category (later played subs will not diminish uniques that exist at the beginning of the game) only to be played in the event of someone being dead before the game started and discovered at a later date. A lot will depend on which categories are chosen. Most of the issues have been with the Olympians (and Pulitzer) categories so anyone who is looking to find an obscure category in hopes of cleaning up need to be very sure of themselves However as it is we have a very exciting game which could end any minute (or drag on for months)

How come this years deathlist is doing so poorly?
Bibliogryphon replied to Charles De Gaulle's topic in Dead Pools
Why has it not been merged with What do you think of the 2022 List? -
Do any Conservative members think for a minute about paying attention to the polls which show amongst the wider electorate Sunak would poll better or are they obsessed with their own rancid obsessions which would lead them down an electoral dead end?

Yes I was confused for some reason I misread the list of outs an Ghella is not an out for you. Unger died just days before the game started but like Ghella every check suggested they were both alive. At the moment I am treating this as a failure to obit and I will tighten up the rules next time. I have not made a final decision on what to do in this case.

Following @RoverAndOut research and internvention @YorkshireBanker breaks their duck with a first unique hit and @DeathByArsenic gets a second unique hit which brings all their other unique picks into plays as potential winners The list is now 57. Replaced Goodenough with Lear

I am inclined to accept the two that died this year although I am thinking that an obit in English might be required for future rounds. I am very vague in the rules. However Mario Ghella's reference was only made on Wiki in June 2022 and I cannot find anything that backs it up. It is akin to the Irwin Unger case that came to light if we can find confirmation of his death and this is a potentially winning pick so I need something a bit more substantial. Thanks Rover!

Well the banana one is easy to solve it is William O' Connell not Connor and that is a typo by me because Banana's original entry was clear.
-
No that is one thing that has been proven with this game. The first three games were all won by different routes It will just be a tweak to the precedence of tie-breaks
-
I will investigate and report back
-
You are right I have adjusted the masterlist accordingly. I do remember one time whe I was adding on my phone I put all the hits in the wrong column and had to go through taking them off. Maybe thet was what it stems from
-
However the general sense of Bon Homie that would flow from such an event should negate any feeling of injustice on the part of msc. Why in the past week have we lost David Warner, Bernard Cribbins and Nichelle Nicholls when Norman Tebbitt, Nigel Lawson and Jim Davidson still walk the Earth As I have indicated there will probably be a rule change for round V
-
I know this is my fault but my memory stick with all my spreadsheets on has stopped working I can no longer access my long list of almost 1000 names and all my entries that are live. I have had to reconstruct the SHBD Masterlist from the pages here Anyone know how to repair memory sticks? (I have tried it in another computer)
-
I am now up to 6 with my list
-
The rules were constructed before I had run a game and I was trying to think of promoting innovation but the players are actually a pretty innovative lot so there are a lot more unique picks than I expected. It has not really been too obvious before but here we have msc with the most hits but no way of going out. However I will be making the change for Game V because I do not like retconning rules
-
For the SHBDP V we perhaps need to think about the priority of total hits vs uniques Thoughts welcome
-
Nichelle Nicholls is one of the really big hits here with fifteen players getting points on the board but only two players have new ways of winning Michael Jopling is the only name added to the list for @Banana but @Spade_Cooley steals Nigel Lawson from poor old @msc who despite having the most individual hit (9) has no ways of going out left because of uniques. John Prescott is a tie between Spade and @chilean way but at the moment I am not going to get too bothered about this because I do not think Prezza will be the first on this list to go 1. Underground, overground.......oh wait. (Or should we save that for Mike Batt?)

One of the biggest advantages of getting rid of Boris Johnson was that hopefully his cabinet of none of the talents would go with him. Dorries, Rees-Mogg and Patel chief amongst them. However I think Liz Truss will keep a lot of the same names. Has Tugendhat made a play for Foreign secretary?
