I must have been asleep when I checked earlier. Congrats @Hell

Good luck going forward I will be back next year probably with many of the same players who will still be alive

Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Howard gets a NYT obituary and gives @MariNisia a first hit but it is a unique so now only two hits from victory

My Mother-in-law died suddenly yesterday aged 78. Bit of a shock really.

Goes to show that the really big deaths of people on everyone's radar have been pretty slow this year

I had to look this guy up as I was not familiar with him (Original Host of Hollywood Squares to save the effort for anyone else with the same predicament) His real name is Ralph Pierre LaCock which is definitely worth mentioning -

You failed to mention her star turn cosplaying Bonnie Langford -

Based on this photo I do not think the Queen is a 2022 hit. However Four rows back The Duke of Kent looks like a walking sack of bones

The BBC can't seem to win at this. On a day like today the tone will need to be respectful and dignified and I admit it can sometimes feel a little too forced but there are so many vultures waiting to pounce on any lack of respect There is a place for a serious look at the place the Royal Family occupies in our society and constitution but this is not it. However, when they do approach it in a serious journalistic style such as the recent Amol Rajan documentry about Prince William and Prince Harry everyone gets all upset This is an important point for all people who are pushing for constitutional reform. A rational debate needs to start as soon as possible because the circus following the Queen's death will drown out all those voices

Yes he is called Les I was probably thinking of Joe Exotic and mixed them up in my mind. I will edit my post to avoid confusion but for the record you were right

My In-laws have had a few health problems over the past few months and so my wife goes over to help them out at the weekend but because she can't drive I take her over and end up sitting with my Father-in-law watching whatever channel he is currently fixated upon. At the moment it is Blaze which means Saturday afternoon is Hardcore Pawn. The shows are now ten years old but Les Gold must be worth a punt for some competitions. He is now 71 and even 10 years ago did not look like someone who would live a long life.

Well we are now almost a quarter of the way through the year and we are still on two hits. Pro rata we would be looking at 8 or 9 hits total

You can add Blake's 7 to that impressive list -
There have been some big name deaths but mostly they are coming from the left field. Death's apprentice looks at the to do list and sees Leslie Phillips, Norman Tebbit and Tony Bennett and thinks no I'll do Shane Warne, Taylor Hawkins and Auntie Bloody Mabel.

Who thinks that Death has been fired and replaced with an agency worker on £2/hour?

I am sure that all your requests for another list of literary award winners have been going into my spam box because I don't seem to have received any but do not fear I have (out of the kindness of my heart) compiled the 10 earliest surviving winners of the W. Somerset Maugham award which is given to "Young writers" to encourage them to travel. Famous names who were previous recipients included Nigel Kneale and John Le Carre. Multiple awards can be made in a single year and all of the top 10 were from at least 50 years ago W Somerset Maugham Award Winners 1957 George Lamming (b.1927) 1966 Julian Mitchell (b.1935) Michael Frayn (b.1933) 1968 Paul Bailey (b.1937) 1970 Jane Gaskell (b.1941) Piers Paul Read (b.1941) 1971 Richard Barber (b.1941) Susan Hill (b.1941) 1972 Gillian Tindall (b.1938) Douglas Dunn (b.1942) Michael Frayn has already been on my radar but the other significant name on there is Dame Susan Hill You are welcome! -
I was in a work meeting and we were comparing diaries for the date of the next meeting and I referred to the week running up to Good Friday as Holy Week and everybody just looked at me blankly
-
We had a work experience student where I used to work who was named Suggs by his parents because they were huge Madness fans

Eddie Mair is to "retire" aged 56 from his job at LBC. Often thought to be a celebrity lurker in these parts there has been in the past some speculation about his health. Health is not mention in his statement but croaking is!

My theme team Joker Penelope Lively is being interviewed at the Oxford Literary Festival tomorrow. Which does not look good for my chances for 2022 but she is being interviewed by Chris Pattern so his overwhelming toadiness might cause her to die or pure revulsion -

It is also Mrs Biblio's birthday. I think she got her Gold medal in patience and tolerance -
A few minutes ago David Graham was trending on Twitter and I had a horrid thought that the worst had happened but it turned out it was something to do with Scottish Football As you were
