The fact that Tom Tugendhat has launched a leadership bid means that any potential rivals will not be left behind. Anyone with any left leaning credentials should probably avoid making too many comments on any of the potential candidates because this beauty pagent is not trying to attract you. It is dependent on two contrary and eccentric constituencies Conservative MPs and Conservative members. Someone like Tugendhat could negotiate such a tightrope

However you could look at it this way Of all the previous people who reached the age of 119 then 50% of them reached 120 But these are all outliers in any statistical analysis of ageing and tossing a coin is probably as good as it gets

We have a new name to add to the list of possible game enders @YorkshireBanker gets a second hit for All You Need Is Cash which means Jeanette Charles stands between him and victory (It actually has to be Jeanette Charles. If the Queen dies you do not win by default) -
Guess who dropped Barry Cryer for 2022?
-
Yes he was always on hand to provide the commentary on the passing of the other comedians with whom he had worked. Because so much was behind the scenes as a writer he was probably in a unique position. I imagine John Lloyd fulfilling that role for the next generation and Barry has outlived most of his contemporaries

This game is a real mixed bag between the seriously circling the drain types and niche fan favourites. I tend to go for a mix of each.

My wife continually watches the 1983 adaptation of Mansfield Park where Angela Pleasance plays Lady Bertram with an absolutely pitch perfect performance. She has outlived costars Bernard Hepton, Gordon Kaye and Anna Massey. Interesting to note that Nicholas Farrell who played the romantic lead is now doing the Saga holiday adverts

I like Twitter and I have a lot of fun there. I have never needed to mute words and for the most part it has not been nasty. Bit like here really.

It seems to me if getting 54 names to Graham Brady is so difficult, it is going to be nearly insurmountable to get the 180 votes to topple him in an actual vote of no confidence -
I had similar thoughts when I saw it and went to Twitter to see what people were saying then I went back and opened the link
