I would argue that Peter Ackroyd should be under consideration as well as Booker Prize winner Penelope Lively. I tend to have a Bookish theme team every year but Kundera was not on my radar If you look at my shadowlist in my signature there are at least 10 writers in there

Authors Last A Long Time, But....
Bibliogryphon replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Because Milan Kundera is on the main list this year and the advent of the new French rapid fire game I have compiled a list of the ten earliest winners of the Prix Mondial Cino Del Duca one of the richest literary prizes in Europe Two recipients are older than Kundera 1992 - Ismail Kadare (b.1936) 1996 - Alain Carpentier (b.1933) 1998 - Wang Zhenyi (b.1924) 2001 - Yvon Gattaz (b.1925) 2003 - Nicole le Douarin (b.1930) 2006 - Jean Clair (Gerard Regnier) (b. 1940) 2007 - Mona Ozzouf (b.1931) 2008 - Mario Vargas Llosa (b.1936) 2009 Milan Kundera (b.1929) 2010 Patrick Modiano (b.1945) -
Yes if you want a full roster of scoring opportunities If you sneak in a soon as there is a hit in this pool you can steel any name that has not been played in that round as yet but you cannot repeat a name in the same round Hit=Blank slate

Hi The latest round started with MariNisa's post at 00.20 yesterday all your picks must not have already been chosen in the round The ones in red above are the only ones you would currently score with Sorry for any confusion This is a fast and sneaky game
-
No this is a game you can join at any point. You just need 20 unique picks but you can swoop in after each hit and nab better picks but also be aware people can do the same to you. There are only two players with points on the board so far

Judging by those pictures it is fit and proper they are both on the list. I could be cruel and suggest it looks like a Klingon trying to give mouth to mouth to a giant tortoise but there is a hint of intimacy in the pucs that suggest that one would not last long without the other.

I have Sheldon Harnick, sorry

I saw James Fleet play Sir Andrew in a production of Twelfth Night where Richard Wilson played Malvolio but I also saw Roger Lloyd-Pack play the same role only months before he died. Stephen Fry was Malvolio on that occasion

All I can remember from View To A Kill when my father in law rented the VHS was Grace Jones on the Eiffel Tower

From a deadpooling point of view I am quite glad to see the back of this pick. Chalk one up for the list but he is gone so quickly he will not bother other competitions (inverse & cup) would not be on my radar and I would have avoided him in Inverse. Interesting character though

The Erdington By-election will be interesting because I think if the mood was similar to Hartlepool then this is a seat the Tories might have a chance in. It is 63% for Brexit and in 2015 the Tory/UKIP vote combined would have beaten Dromey. Taking away his personal connection to the electorate and if Starmer made a poor candidate selection the Tories could have caused a shock but in the current climate I think they will write this off before they start

So with the second hit we are clearly ahead of the pack. If we are to break the record then we would be looking at a death every 17.4 days which means the third hit would need to come before 21 Feb to stay on track. 2020 was an unusual year in that the deaths were fairly evenly spread but most years form an s shape with a sharp cluster of deaths

Congrats @Yvonne

I think it is an example of format rather than content

Phil Collins (And Other Genesis Types)
Bibliogryphon replied to DevonDeathTrip's topic in DeathList Forum
Was flicking through the channels last night and there was a Genesis documentary on Sky Arts. It has some footage of the recent concerts but I turned it off because it was heartbreaking to see the state of Phil Collins -

Just noticed I neglected to acknowledge @Perhaps getting a hit with Betty White for Toy Story 4 -
First graph of 2022 The last time we had a hit this early (2011) there were only seven hits

I have highlighted in red your current scoring picks but you can replace the others with non-chosen picks before the next round or you can try and sweep in as soon as a new round begins Which might send the rest of us scurrying to our back up picks. Any picks before my announcement of the new round on Friday are no longer in play so you might scavenge some there

Any originals in your list will still count. For example noone else has Glynis Johns
