Not a fan. I have only read two of his books and I regretted persevering with both of them. A couple of times I have picked up Helliconia Spring and failed to get beyond the first 30 pages

Brian Aldiss used to be like that. The Today programme must have had him on speed dial because whenever an SF writer died he would pop up and say they were good but not as good as me.

I once sat about three seats away from Isla Blair at The Other Place in Statford while her husband Julian Glover was performing his one man show of Beowulf

Hi I will replace Anthony Sher with Timothy Dudley-Smith Thanks
-
Wow. This is over quite quickly. Thank you to all for the congratulations. I feared this may be coming from the tone of the RSC statement they originally made. I was torn between Frank Field and Anthony Sher but I logged on during a comfort break in a meeting I was in an saw Frank had already been taken. Anthony Sher is a more me pick anyway I saw him play Macbeth in Stratford several years ago. Very sad but I will take the long-awaited win. By casual players do you mean people who play diligently but are crap?

Bernard Cribbins has been confirmed as a guest for the DWAS Convention to be held in London in April 2022 I know this doesn't mean too much but at this current time his assessment of his own health means he thinks it is a reasonable thing to commit to

It's not well covered on Radio 4 -
The longer the game goes on the more significant hits like this are. When others share the same winning picks, uniques and total number of hits give you the edge

@drol Not a bad assessment but I am firmly in the No Wrestlers On The Deathlist grouping so I would take issue with one of your picks
