I have long advocated Douglas Hurd as a potential pick and there has been recent speculation about how ill Roy Hattersley looked in the last round of photos, John Morris is very old. With the demise of Shirley Williams Bill Rodgers is clearly going to be the next of the Gang of Four to go and despite his weight loss Nigel Lawson still does not look the picture of health. How long has this game got left and does @msc have some good topics for Game V?

My wife alerted me to a news story yesterday that led to this post. The TV presenter and wildlife activist Chris Packham's house has been attacked by someone trying to set fire to the gates. Previously his opponents have left dead animals outside his gates. I am concerned that this campaign of terror against him might get out of hand as he is not the type of person to back down. Whilst I do not think anyone would set out to kill him I didn't think tge Brexit referendum would lead to murder either. Whether you agree with him or not this level of intimidation should not be part of the political discourse in this country.

This is Edward Heath's old seat but like Chesham & Amersham it is probably a hot bed of old school tories and Heath was pro European On paper it should be a walk in the park for the Tories but it is a massive pitfall if they lose it. I reckon Labour will run a low key campaign and allow the Lib Dems a clear shot
