I thought Norway would do better but it did not get much a response from the national juries. Were they punishing people who were singing languages in English rather than a native tongue?

Everyone who has now entered (18 players) are all verified. Entries close on Monday but I am not going to be in a position to do much verification over the bank holiday weekend so if you are planning a late entry can you please include a sub just on case. Many thanks.

Deadline for entry is on Monday. That warrants an outing for the brilliant Fry & Laurie card shop sketch. My Dad was always very good at remembering everyone in the families birthday including all our partners but his eyesight got very bad just before he had to give up living alone. One birthday my wife opened a card from him with beautiful flowers on but it was a with sympathy card. My wife told me that I was absolutely not allowed to tell him. I told the story at his funeral.

There is one group where the selections are distinctly narrower than the others.

Fortunately I haven't aged too badly. I have photos of my father when he was the same age and I look better than he did but he lived to be 90. Although I have slight health issues beginning to creep in. Fortunately my daughter knows better than to comment on our ages and we are often younger than her contmpories parents

Now my daughter has passed beyond the education system school holidays which used to dominate our thinking now just happen to someone else

Felt a bit sorry for Austria and yes Greece was the weakest of the qualifiers.

If you are going to do that the decision needs to be taken now. When the Queen dies there will be such a cacophony of nationalist grief sharing that the Republicans won't get a look in. They tend to have notoriously tone deaf timing anyway. I think it will undergo considerable trimming before its demise but I am not sure I will live to see it.
