    Thoughts On The 2017 List

We are ahead of 2015 but behind 2003 and 2008. These three are the previous 14 scoring years but in 2003 there were no deaths after the end of September.

    Art For Death's Sake

American Artist Jasper Johns (b.1930) will not be travelling from New York to London for the opening of a major retrospective of his work at the Royal Academy. One of the curators said he is a very private person and he is 87.

    Sad Last Days

Well i presume there is a buying readership. I just wander into Sainsbury's and casually leaf through the pages. I presume that most of the revenue comes from advertising of the sort of tat your Grandma would have rejected for being too tacky in the 70s. I think that the healthy scepticism that goes with this is looking for the faint spark of fire that has generated a lot of smoke and the potential that they might occasionally get one right.

This week National Enquirer ran a sad last days special featuring: Dianne Carroll (walking with stick) Billy Dee Williams (wheelchair) Drew Barrymore (fat)???? Diane Keaton (wishful thinking) John Travolta (Just in case) and some other people I had not heard of.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

My 1000 name long list is essentially a memo pad not everyone on it is circling the drain but they have been of interest at some point. I am using it to also track unusual (non DDP) picks but I put them out in the public domain and still get a unique joker.

Our first hamster was called Ripley. Later we had Delenn and Sheriden and poor old Sheriden died the same day Sleeping in Light was shown in the UK. Some of you may know what I am talking about.

    Pets

Budgies are great pets. When I was at Uni my GF (now my wife) used to write to me. Her budgie sat on the end of her pen and pecked the edge of the paper so ended up with patterned letters.
