You might find the British Character Actors thread more enlightning

There are a couple of us who are going to make a concerted effort to get Bernard onto the 2018 list. He has a secret army of supporters.
-
Well that means I can pull in a few others.
-
I only think that because it is neat and there is a clear justification for the decision either way. I have no authority here so it is only an opinion. I am interested in some of your selections but I bet you aren't thinking of starting one for Bernard Hepton

Have you had many entries? I am OK for politicians, need one more each for business and sport and I have entertainers by the score. I didn't read the rules proprly whenI did my first run through and have got artists, writers and academics and no military at all. Are you OK with other or do I have to go back to the drawing board. Do people who were once knighted but have now been given a peerage count?

Where do scientists go? I would rather put in five scientists than five from the armed forces.

In my mind individual threads should be reserved for those people who have actually been on the Deathlist and everybody else should be in a category thread.

Will Shia Le Bouf reprise his son role or will that be recast?

OK. I Have just done a first draft of a team. Bit of a struggle because I don't like to think about Labour losing seats to the Tories.

It was a formal occasion so it seemed appropriate. Melvyn Bragg is the chancellor now.

Not as portly as Cyril Smith who went on for quite a while.

However Clive Lewis is much more high profile and a potential leadership candidate. That might carry a few votes. Leicester voted to remain so Liz Kendall will probably be safe. Is Keith Vaz taking the opportunity to go quietly?

It is difficult to see where the current political upheaval will leave us. Thatcher/Major only managed 18 years and Major only just scraped in in 1992. If Labour lose badly Jeremy Corbyn will step down but grassroots who got him there will want another candidate of the left. Emily Thornberry perhaps but the powers that be will do their best to keep her off the short list.

Going for the most inconvenient date for me. May 14th

I found one from The Irish Times and the Japan Times (in English). On my phone so cannot link.

Apparently my pick Masamitsu Yoshida died on 29th October 2016. You will need to remove him from my 2017/8 team as well.

There are only a couple of places where Green votes matter. Brighton, Bristol & Norwich. Labour's core vote holds up in most places but they need to get off the Brexit agenda, make it about public services and a just society. If the opposition parties mobilise then voters could decide to vote tactically. Labour lost a lot of votes to UKIP in 2015 but UKIP are a mess at the moment. Whether those votes will go back to Labour is debatable. There is no template for this election. All the people who didn't vote in 2015 outnumber the votes cast for a single party.

I don't think it is as remote as the media would have you believe. The polls do not tell the whole story and whereas last time there were shy tories now I think people don't want to admit they would support Corbyn. If Labour can fight on NHS, standard of living and anti hard brexit they may do some damage.

Congrats. I will also be celebrating my Silver Wedding anniversary this year. -
That did come across from me as harsher than intended. Thanks Shaun

Don't you think she looks tired! One for YW, DJL & Time -
I would add Honor Blackman and Betty White as poor picks.

There is an easy way to avoid this. Only have erudite friends. You know where we are!
