He was ill and so the news was not unexpected. He lost his wife earlier last year and his first wife died just before him.He has two sons from his first marriage the eldest has learning difficulties and the younger is a bit of a black sheep. When we were both at school I had the Police get em out of bed one morning asking where I had been the previous evening. I had been at home reading not in the neighbouring down beating up a third year. My cousin and I share a surname and first initial.....

Got a FB message from a cousin over the weekend. It seems my Uncle (Dad's younger brother) died in November and nobody bothered to tell anyone. My Dad doesn't know and his sister doesn't know. My sister will be livid as she loves a good funeral.

I'm sure he will be back just to assure us he was not the stab victim outside Leicester Rail station yesterday morning.

I did think it was noble of Sir Howard to sacrifice himself for the sake of this week's show.

A bit of Philip Hammond's speech you might have missed. In order to improve the prospects for my DDP 2018 theme team I can confirm we will turn off the heating in the House of Lords -
Why are you apologising?

Yesterday morning Vince Cable was on the Today programme and he sounded a bit raspy. Might have been the line though.

The industry I work tends to rotate the same people between organistions so you get to know your rivals quite well. Our local rival is known by a three letter acronym and after a management buyout one of the directors got himself a white BMW with the number plate BO55 ***. Even his colleagues agreed he was a knob.

Unfortunately for me I think my best bet (King Michael) is a pick for RadGuy as well. Not behind yet though. However punditry seems to have me as the underdog.

Not fish though. -
Not so sure Brian says it wasn't by mutual consent. There was a discussion about this on Feedback on Friday (just after Last Word)

No in his prime when he used to be on Parliamentry Questions he was very witty. I have read one of his books about the years between the World Wars. Very Good Read.
