Sir Colin Meads, 80, believes he is beating pancreatic cancer with the help of that well known cancer cure Taranaki Water... Make that 8 (see SKS thread)

I think 7 of Shaun's names above should be in serious consideration. Though the committee have a lot of leeway. They need 15 almost nailed on deaths and then they can cast the net a little wider and may get the next John Nash.

Someone at the BBC is convinced Parsons wont be around for the 50th. Hence them having a big show of the 45th anniversary. I have a feeling they are wrong. -
Dare one even say Phil Collins?

Woah No Jim Prior. I thought he was a shoe in.

It is lucky you are not on the same continent as Lardy with that pick. You have DJ Fontana and I have DC Fontana on my Shadowlist. No chance of confusion there then.

Prince Charles will be appearing on the Christmas edition of Just a Minute. It is this time next year that the programme celebrates it 50th Anniversary. No evidence but possibly getting something in before one or the other of them is unavailable -

If you type his name into Wiki you end up on her page. Yep. An heir to a supermarket fortune, pro poker player playboy. All the P's. Money can remove a lot on the internet.... At the time, I'd heard of him, not her. To my credit I knew neither of them. -
You could always ask him directly. https://twitter.com/adysaintg I assume this is the one you mean. Noseybonk etc... When I have access to twitter again I will. Just really trying to give an example of someone who was a star of children's TV in the past but has faded from public view.

I am coming down on the side of his inclusion. People like Brian Cant and Tony Hart would have been acceptable inclusions and I has Ann Emery drafted in to one of my DDP for next year until her fortunate demise. If Casey Casem can be on the list then I think SKS can be as well. My wife worked in a preschool and Lazy Town was enormously popular among the children. We should not succumb to generational prejudice if the heroes of of our childhood TV are worthy of inclusion then so are those of later generations. ps does anyone know any health/career information on Adrian Hedley?

So do the BBC export their kids shows to the US. I thought that sewer just contained one way traffic. Actually, I've seen it on nickelodeon when they had there educational time for the little ones. Clearly to little effect.

I am not going to quote your whole list but Mary Berry stands out as someone who I think had many years left in her. Observation not criticism. Good luck.

All relative Toastie. I don't have telly , so someone like Bracknell is a total nonentity. Yet Monty Brinson this year wasn't. No, I don't think it's relative (I see what you did there!) Leah Bracknell is an actress who was in a very popular programme. That's a fact whether you or I watched it or not. Same goes for this Stefan Stefansson, whoever he is. I never heard of him or Lazy Town, but I accept it was a popular programme watched by many over a number of years. Remind me again who Monty Brinson was. Ex-husband of someone who had been in a reality show, was it? Doesn't tick the fame box for me, not unless he had some notable achievements of his own. The way I look at it is that I have my own eligibility standards and I only play picks that meet them. I have still had a fair few uniques which I did not expect to get Gareth Thomas, David Jenkins and George Weidenfeld. I am probably not going to win the DDP but I am doing quite well in other games. Not the Hare's Deadpool though. -
I thought he was extremely dignified after Paula Yates' death especially when all the press were crawling all over the where is Michael Hutchence money. When interviewed he point blank refused to be drawn into any criticism of Paula and struck me as a man who still had strong feelings for her.

Nice to see some of those still knocking around these parts -
If they can afford to create a lakeside resort they can afford to feed their starving. The famine in Ethiopia during 1984/5 was a direct result of the actions of the military dictatorship punishing regions that defied them. It did not need to happen hunger was being used as a weapon. However the current democratically elected Government doesn't have a much better reputation with dealing with civil unrest. This resort is built by and named for the former Olympic Marathon runner Haile Gebrselassie and is essentially a way of bringing foreign tourists into the country.
