Archive Hour on Radio 4 tomorrow night is all about obituaries We probably won't get a mention though, unless they interview Eddie Mair

    Room Lovely, Look You.

My first car was a Green Talbot Sunbeam that I bought from an Irish Gentleman. I went on Honeymoon in that car.

    By-Election Bingo

FAO Maryport The Voice of YMP might be on for a good one here, long term. Mike Gapes had a heart attack, and was only released from hospital last week, 2 months on. Shit, he's lording it over me already without this encouraging boost. This ain't a sprint, ain't a marathon but it's an ultra-marathon, right. Well unless some blue ones start dying we have still got another 50 months to play.

    Read Any Good Books Lately?

I have read almost 300 Doctor Who adaptations/original novels. Possibly more. My wife reads all the literary things and then tells me which ones are worth bothering with.

Is there still a small part of your nation that believes that the Belgians are all just treacherous bastards who should be forcibly brought back into the fold and swear fealty to your King or were you glad to see the back of the dull equine devouring pen pushers?

I think that one might take a bit of explaining to Sir C. You just can't get the Staff these days.

    Joey Feek

Not sure I would put Joey Feek in the category of "big named people" Christian country is quite a small niche in that music genre. 1. You coulda stopped the first paragraph where I cut it off. 2. I've been wondering (as I simply refuse to care enough to look it up) whether J+R are country or bluegrass or Christian music category. (WTF is 'Christian Country?' Is that what they're cubbyholed into?) Reason I say this is that another nominee in one of those categories is as bad if not worse shape than Joey so she won't win on the sympathy card as most would assume. Said person shall remain nameless in case beyond comprehension they live 11 months. SC Christian Country is similar to Christian Rock, except that it's country music. Bluegrass is country combined with elements of jazz and English folk music. Good grief. I just had a look. There are so many categories that there could be a prize for everybody! Which reminds me of the Hello Cheeky sketch "Today in a competition to find the sexist man on television named Nicholas Parsons..... ...Nobody won"

i never really like Elton, Bowie was my idol, but not Elton....he does seem to have a similar past with overdose, illness and stuff...when he dies the whole planet will praise him and adore him. I think he'll get Bowie/Jackson kinda reaction from the public although he never got my respect as an artist like the two mentioned. I need to take a minute here have you just put David Bowie and Michael Jackson in the same artistic category??? haha no, that was the media reaction basket, nothing related to their music, although jackson got more attention The attention Jackson got focused on him as an individual where Bowie sent all the 45+ journalists into a morbid sense of 'oh my god David has gone all my formative years were spend wishing I was one quarter as cool as he was everyone else must feel the same' However the focus was on him as an artist which like him or loathe him he certainly managed to balance between the commercial success and the avant garde experimentation.

He was enormously popular in the UK about 10-15 years ago with the Redwall series. Which ended up as a sort of Watership Down meets Lord of the Rings hybrid. Didn't get it myself but my nephews had them all.

i thought about all of them, even some younger ones, but decided to keep it simple this time, and i went for shock death, outside ddp people don't really expect aretha franklin to die but i could always add some more names Aaaah I was probably not explaining my self well enough. The DDP is the Derby Deadpool which is the main off list game for us UK Deathlisters. Because each player is allowed up to three teams of 20 picks there are a very large number of names on here which makes it all the more shocking when someone who is off the radar goes because you expect at least someone to have them. Theme teams also add to that sense of shock.

Just seen something on fb about Elton John donating a piano to St Pancras station and he turned up and played a few tunes. Over the past year or so he has really turned on a charm offensive either he is concerned about his kids growing up and thinking he is a completely arrogant tosspot or he is concerned about securing his legacy. Saw what happened with Bowie and thought 'what would they say about me?'

There are a number of Osmonds you could have included. All four members of Abba? Bryan Ferry, Steve Harley, Suzi Quatro, Debbie Harry.......... I am not advocating another poll but a number of these have been quite popular in DDP terms. I was thinking those that didn't even show up on the DDP just like Bowie.

Ooooohh. They does seem to be a bit of a rumour cloud around Janet at the moment. How many of their kids will Joe and Katherine outlive?

    Michael Schumacher

Aye, but it's non-specific and clearly coming from a source who feels it personally. Those closest to him clearly protect the information as much as they can. I'd say we can rule out Celebrity Big Brother, but he gets regular therapy, so could remain alive for a long long time from here. The news could be that there is little prospect of him getting better, not necessarily that he is getting worse. Aye, that's my suspicion too; and probs a pisser if the growing kids are fancying that spare room for their band to practice in. That is so wrong but I laughed out loud at that one.
