What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
Bibliogryphon replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
Diappointed by the incluson of Roberts. Not sure about Nash as he was not on my radar at all, likewise Kerkorian but at that age you can't argue. I think Mubarak may have a little longer left in him. I would have kept Brady, inlcuded a soap matriarch (Alexander/Dawn/Kelly/Mercier) and put Tony Booth on the list. Time will tell I need to do more research. -
Tony Benn - A real political hero.

Who Should Be The New Deathlist Ambassador?

I think Christopher Lee. It fits so well. -
Jake Lamotta - Raging Bull is on telly tonight.

I won something. It seems a little ironic that the only thing I won was the competition where people don't have to die to win. It makes up for a pathetic 351st place in the DDP. Although joint 7th on the theme team league for my theme team was quite pleasing. Happy New Year everyone I am up for this for 2015.

On the masterlist - just to point out that Jeremy Hutchinson and Baron Hutchinson of Lullington are one and the same person.

The Deathlist Christmas Special!
Bibliogryphon replied to Lady Die's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I hope all my fellow Deathlisters have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you on Jan 5th. -
Can't disagree with that but I think she is an actress who most people would recognise but not readily name.

This leaves only Tam Dalyell as a former Father of the House but Sir Peter Tapsell (the current incumbent) will step down in 2015.

2 of my shortlist gone in a few days, this is why I'm not submitting until NYE. Same here. 4 in total recently if I include Jimmy Ruffin and Lynda Bellingham Aye, well... Up where he belongs for Christmas, eh? He's had the time of his life - 70 years apparently
-
I picked Clive James. You could have included James Best (b.1926) as another option.

OK the good news is that I am thinking along the right lines bad news is that I have got to trawl through my subs. Please replace the late John Freeman with Lewis Gilbert and if any others go before the starting tape goes up then the following will substitute 1. Ronnie Corbett 2. Mary Tyler Moore 3. Brian Cant Thanks

As Frankie Boyle so ably tweeted at Thatcher's funeral, the guest list for that event was a damning indictment of the operational inefficiency of the IRA. Which - in a round about way - is why Carrington and his former cabinet colleagues offer us dead pool fodder now. I don't think Lord C is the best bet in the survivors, Leon Brittan being a younger but more promising candidate, surely. The gobby Tebbit probably has a few years left in him given the life force he exbibits every time something like Hilary Mantell's Thatcher assassination story makes the news. I think Douglas Hurd and Nigel Lawson are probably good bets as well. Hurd certainly looked the worst at the funeral. Everyone else looked quite pleased to be there.

Not seeing any more on this anywhere? I think there would at least be a mention becuase of his links to Richard Attenborough and To The Manor Born.

Who Should Be On The 2015 Deathlist?
Bibliogryphon replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList Forum
Whilst I do not think that John Craven would be a good addition to the 2015 list we may do no worse than turn our attention to the other John from seventies UK kids TV. I refer to Joan Noakes who is looking less than healthy these days. -

OK maybe I over exaggerated just a tad but it would certainly be one to tell Kirsty Young about. -

I have just realised I forgot to include George Michael in the list. Will this be his Last Christmas? -

89! Wow, she's still going strong as well. I think she'll be with us for a while yet. She has had health issues. Although having only been aware of them through headlines these maybe somewhat exaggerated as this article form 2009 suggests -

Who Should Be On The 2015 Deathlist?
Bibliogryphon replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList Forum
We have had a number of posters who have previously brought a Canadian slant to this site and it is welcome but the final decision lies with the committee as to who goes on the main list each year. Only 17 of the 50 picks this year are British which to me is a reasonable number. There is also an element of nostalgia in this which was hinted at above people like John Craven, Tony Hart, Brian Cant etc which may not mean much to those overseas but it keeps us coming back to discuss memories. I am still not sure about the inclusion of James Randi though. Please consider registering and then your opinions may carry more weight but I don't think we should limit the scope of the list but you can gripe about it if you disagree in the New Year. -
Who Should Be On The 2015 Deathlist?
Bibliogryphon replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList Forum
OK, but I don't know the names of every member of every band who recorded a few decent songs. TBH the first thing that sprang to mind was a radio presenter, but I was probably thinking of Alan Partridge. To be fair this inclusion probably says more about me than anything else. XTC are hardly massive even in the UK and SWO was their only top 10 hit, and that only reached number 10, but I was trying to think of a musician who was very British who was part of a band along the lines of Wilko Johnson. I suppose I could have picked one of the members of Bananarama but I could be bothered to look them up. Took (some of) the words out of my mouth, Biblio, I was going to mention Bananarama. Siobhan Fahey was a member wasn't she? Yes but I wouldn't have picked her because of Shakespeare's Sister and the fact she was married to Dave Stewart. I was more thinking of the one who married Andrew Ridgely.
