The Crowdsourced List is only at four and the TOP 50 in the DDP is only at three so this is more to do with left field deaths this year rather than poor picking by the committee

Friday is Day 103 of the year In 2020 the official list got its 8th hit It is also the average day for the 4th hit to fall on. So if Jimmy (or one of his 46 pals) can't deliver by Friday we will be in a below average year

I have previously stated that I believe Radio 4 to be the natural station of the Deathlist and when I heard The Last Word broadcast on 26 October two of their interviewees were both on the Deathlist: Henry Kissinger and James Randi. Henry sounded weak but coherent and James sounded quite chirpy. However as both were discussing the loss of a contempary too chirpy should not really be an option. So to start off this discussion of all things Radio 4 I have a list of all the still living presenters of the Today programme. Barry Norman (1933 - Desmond Lynam (1942 Gillian Reynolds (1935- Nigel Rees (1944- Libby Purves (1950– Jenni Murray (1950– Sue MacGregor (1941– Peter Hobday (1937– Anna Ford (1943 - Edward Stourton (1957- Carolyn Quinn (19?? - John Humphries (1943- James Naughtie (1951- Sarah Montague (1966- Evan Davies (1962- Justin Webb (1961- Barry Norman must be a consideration over the coming years

Only Fifteen players have posted scores in the past 24 hours so there are 112 points left amongst the bottom five which at an attrition rate of 30 points a day should suggest that we get a result in this round before the end of the week- 2,234 replies

In a previous role. I worked on a project about the methods of assessment for various types of sports footwear and my boss was adamant that when we referred to Football it should always be soccer because most of the brands were US based or took their lead from the US and they would confuse football with the American version

I have been thinking about the "Woke" casting complaints and I think that the more people try to put rules around it the more it is going to struggle Theatre, TV and Film are all forms of art and by saying - you must cast accurately or you must cast colour blind or gender blind is basically hampering the creative decisions of the creator before the start There were complaints about the casting of a Black Anne Boleyn in a TV drama but the musical Six has been an enormous success and when my wife and daughter saw it at least three of the wives were played by actresses of colour. Therefore my opinion is that casting is an artistic decision that the director needs to stand by. There have been many experimental productions which have played about with casting that have been enormous successes (Matthew Bourne's all male Swan Lake or Hamilton for that matter) It would take a brave director to cast Zac Efron as Martin Luther King but a really creative director could make it work without seeming too crass. Someone on Twitter refused to go and see the new Indiana Jones movie for the sole reason that Phoebe Waller-Bridge was in it and they were expecting two hours of feminist propeganda I would rather judge a production on how it tells the story and the story it has to tell rather than inflict my own opinions on something before I have even seen it

At the RSC there is a lot of gender neutral casting I saw a Julius Caesar with a female Brutus. A female Timon of Athens and in the Macbeth we saw last year there was a female Banquo although that was probably the second worst Macbeth I have ever seen. In the theatre I do not really have a problem with it. My daughter is in a touring production of Macbeth and because of the size of the cast she is frequently any one of the witches, Donalbain, Lady Macduff and Young Siward on a nightly basis In Kenneth Branagh's film version of Much Ado About Nothing I did not hear any howls of protest when Keanu Reeves and Denzel Washington were cast as half brothers though I find that less incredulous than people who claim Robert Sean Leonard could act

Guess the date of the next UK General Election Sweepstake!

I think it is an either or situation If there is not an election there may be a leadership challenge. The election may be called to head off such a challenge
