    Discuss The 2013 Deathlist

I hope this list will give us at least as good a performance as 2012. I think it has the names on here to do so. Good work.

    Nicholas Parsons

He was a fequent butt of the jokes on the 70s radio show Hello Cheeky: Example "Today in a competition to find the sexiest man on Television called Nicholas Parsons..........Nobody won" And then there is the traditional NP joke "Lots of Girls like Nicholas Parsons and lots of Parsons like............."

Irate Visitors Rage Here, If You Must.

Suppose someone is a masochist and they lead a life of wickedness: when they die, do they still get everlasting punishment? Genuine question. Punishment is not just limited to physical pain. Imagine in life you had been an apreciator of fine classical music, your everlasting punishment might be an endless performance of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. A poet might have to listen to Pam Ayres recordings and football fans eternity would be Carlisle vs Northampton town on a rainy Tuesday night in January.

More likely than electing a woman apparently.

    Discuss The 2013 Deathlist

I don't get the impression that Parsons is going anywhere soon. For those who are not familiar with his work on "Just a Minute" and "Sale of the Century" he also dabbled as an actor. His turn as Rev. Wainwright in Doctor Who - The Curse of Fenric is well worth checking out.

    The 1st Death Of 2013

I went for Hugo. I don't think the results of this vote would cheer him up.

    Sir Patrick Moore

He will live in Brian May's hair.

    Bernadette Nolan

Very good point. If there was a celebrity that indulged in the Deathlist my money would be on Richard Osman.

Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?

I don't think Roger Moore or Bernie Ecclescake will be popping off in 2013.

    Bunkum Or Bunker?

I understand that if the world ends tomorrow God has bookd Jim Bowen to stand with all the atheist before the pearly gates and when the swing open he will speak the immortal words "Here's what you would've won"

    Room 101

I saw a picture of her recently (within the past year) at ZZG's party - I presume this is how she makes sure she looks good - she is going to look better than Zsa Zsa.

    Hosni Mubarak

perhaps he was listening to the Bangles... Whooosh no more. I just looked up the Bangles in Wikipedia as I didn't know much about them either (to my credit, though, I did know Walk Like an Egyptian, unlike these young 'uns we have with us today). Anyway, Wiki contains this gem: "...The album was another multi-platinum smash and included their biggest-selling single, the soft ballad "Eternal Flame".... The single became another worldwide hit.[8] Hoffs was actually naked when she recorded the song, after being convinced by Sigerson that Olivia Newton-John got her amazing performances by recording everything while naked.[9]" I hope no-one tells Susan Boyle!

    Hugo Chavez

No, that set of pitchforks are for Bush and Cheney, Obama and Hilary. The ones for Chavez and Castro are in the other corner. In which case what weapon of torture would Margaret Thatcher require?

Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?

There is a very good episode of The Thin Blue Line where Inspector Fowler is challenged on his form for gun ownership which only has one question on it. Do you want to own a gun? If the answer is yes then he considers them not appropriate people to own guns.

    Highest Profile Death Of 2013?

I am assuming Nelson Mandela won't make it to 2013. But I think Prince Philip will be the biggest death of 2013 - sometime around Easter.

Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?

We also need to be playing for the whole 12 months. It would be worth putting a few longshots in to lighten the dark Autumnal nights.

    Political Frailty

Just heard Sir Tom King on WatO. He sounded with it but his voice had a frailty to it that the elderly get when being asked awkward questions.

Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?

I would agree with all but Healey. Like Patrick Moore he could go at any time and I think we would be kicking ourselves if we missed him. Anyway it adds political balance to having Maggie on the list. I think we should go for three Labour - Healey, John Freeman and Tony Benn (he is looking very frail these days) and three Tories - Lady T, Lord Carrington and Morgan Morgan Giles with Jeremy Thorpe as the token Liberal. Seven places is a lot to dedicate to one constituency (UK politicians) considering there are only 3 on the 2012 list.

36 is some months but so is 3.
