    Hooroo, Mate.

Just been on Wikipedia and looked up Don Spencer - Australian, Play School presenter, singer of Fireball XL5 theme tune and Russel Crow's Father-in-Law but it does not say what year he was born. Could be one to watch if we can find any information on him.

    Time Added

Not dead just in the same condition as Ariel Sharon and has been since 1990 (1966?)

Not sure I would agree with you but I did suggest to a colleague that "No Jacket Required" was more enjoyable to listen to than "The White Album" and I have never heard the last of it!

    British Science Fiction Series

You missed out David Brierly, who did the voice of K9 for one season after John Leeson quit. He died about 5 years ago I did say that I wasn't going to get into the cannonical quibble but I decided not to include David Brierly because John Leeson is K-9. I didn't include Hamish Wilson either.

Like I said, give the New Blood album (and concert film) a chance. Yes, he's recycling old material but, stripped of the layers and layers of synths and ponderous drums, his music sounds MUCH better. I think it was a wise move on his behalf - it is a way of ensuring his legacy as a great songwriter and lyricist now that the original versions of his songs sound so dated. Synths may age but orchestras are timeless. Really, it is the only Gabriel album you need to own. I still think So is an awesome album. Very eighties yes but a brilliant album. I think this whole thread is being a bit sniffy about the musical acheivements of both PG & PC. Being successful does not always mean that you have sold out.

    British Science Fiction Series

When I have re-watched the stories that featured Liz Shaw I felt she was a character who could really work alongside The Doctor and the characterisation in this series is much deeper. However the production team wanted a much more "Why Doctor?" character and so Jo Grant was born. Shame about Caroline John. When Time annotated my list he did suggest she was one to watch I'd love to take the credit for that but it was actually msc. Thank you Time for correcting me and apologies msc - excellent insight. I started the reply before checking the earlier post.

It would be like "Only When I Laugh"

??? Peter Gabriel is alive, he's only 62. I think I know who you mean, but I'm buggered if I can think of his name at the moment. Gotit! Were you thinking of Robert Palmer? You are probably right but not sure how you get Peter Gabriel confused with Robert Palmer. Not sure I would put any member of Genesis on the list just yet but considering the Deaths we have had this year and RP himself things can be surprising

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

He's the oldest living astronomer I believe. Assuming he doesnt pass away this year I'd be amazed if he wasn't on next years list'. He still has the occassional pint with his old mate Patrick Moore apparantely Surely this man must be a shoe-in for the 2013 list if he makes it that far. He will be 100 next year. He also shares my birthday. (Same day - not year!)

If you want something to really make you feel oppressed and the end of the world is nigh try the reworked version of "Here Comes the Flood" from Shaking the Tree. It is awesome but not very cheery.

    Hosni Mubarak

I know it is not in the spirit of the website but I think Egypt could do without Hosni Mubarak dying in the next few days
  13. I am thinking that it is inversely proportional to their level of celebrity. Those who people know who they are have their own thread whereas second rate singers who did a bit of acting can pop up in all sorts of places!

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2013

Thanks for this Yongle He is on a draft list of about 40 names I have pencilled in to research for possible inclusion on my reserve 400 list for 2013! Didn't make it to 2013 (already posted in The Welsh)

    Nigel Kneale & Judith Kerr

Judith was awarded an OBE in The Queen's Birthday Honours list. Is this a case of like Edward Kenneday and Robert Stephens - get it in quick whilst it is still an option? It is pretty damning that Judith has been overlooked for so long when Jacqueline Wilson and J K Rowling are already Dames.

Britney Spears, Kerry Katona, Heather Locklear et al.

I love seeing her scrapes and shenanigans Is this a euphemism?

    Alain Robert AKA Spider-Man

Apparently ABC is making him wear a harness. He's never worn one so he's concerned it will affect his equilibrium. Personally, I'd be super-glued to the tightrope. Note that there was no comment as this event went off without incident.

    The 6th Death Of 2012

I count 47 votes. I didn't count and just went by the statement that 50 members had cast their votes. Oh yea weird didn't see that . Maybe it didn't register the other three votes im not sure unless my counting is off . Someone should do a recount .lol I know what happened 50 people have cast there votes and three people have deleted them probably . that's my best guess. I know what happened - I was trying to be a smart arse without getting my facts straight

    The 6th Death Of 2012

I am intrigued by the way the percentages are calculated. Mubarek has 16/50 votes which by my reckoning should be 32% but the programme has put him at 34%. Does Deathlist maths work in a weird and fiendish way?

    Not Seen Any Good Films/movies

Difficult one!! LOTR If you have read the books then the films are OK to watch but a wasted opportunity. If you haven't read the books then I would recommend reading the books but you might enjoy the films more if you haven't read the books!! HARRY POTTER Just don't bother!

    Clive Dunn

I seriously think that Deathlisters should snap these up as official mugs to drink out celebratory champagne from when either Zsa Zsa or Thatcher finally depart
