    Thoughts on 2023 Deathlist

The categories were very broad so even if he had not had the playing career I would have put him in sport because that is where he is known from

    Thoughts on 2023 Deathlist

Looking at the distribution by (very broad) profession we have Politics 13 Music 13 Actors 12 Sport 2 Others 10 I was surprised by there being only 2 sportspeople on there but I suppose sports careers are for the young and unless they develop an specific illness by the time they are considered for the list they have gone. Obviously losing Pele last year was significant. I only have 3 sportspersons on my shadow list

There is something slightly delicious in the fact that The Teletubbies have outlasted U2 Four bizarre creatures with stupid made-up names that irritate the fuck out of everyone apart from their die-hard fans..........

    Thoughts on 2023 Deathlist

Delors is in the World category I think most leaders of countries and institutions should be considered such. Possibly not every micronation but the EU is very important. I was originally going to rank all the names on a fame scale from 1 to 50 which I might do later if we don't get an interesting hit

    Thoughts on 2023 Deathlist

Just done a fame barometer assessment of the candidates I have divided them into four levels Worldwide - Those who would probably be a lead news story across the globe US Famous - Names that have limited exposure outside of the US and most non-US people here would only recognise from Deadpooling activities UK Famous - Probably household names in the UK but not globally (popular amongst posters here) Niche names - Those only really included because they are going to die. They may be very successful and significant in their fields but not universally recognised There are some names that I debated about which category they should go in for example Bob Newhart has (relunctantly) gone into US Famous because a few late night C4 showings of his sitcom and a minor recurring role in BBT doesn't make him William Shatner So the distribution is as follows World: 23 US: 6 UK: 16 Niche: 5 You might carve the cake a different way The two existing hits are both from the World group

In most cases even though the No.1 singles have not been the best songs by that artist they are still usually above the common fare. Three Lions is the only song on The Lightning Seeds GH album that I would skip. However I am a Tori Amos fan but will not be upvoting Professional Widow

I am tempted to upvote Three Lions because this would be the only opportunity to vote for the Lightning Seeds but I suspect in the scheme of things they would be wasted votes

    Thoughts on 2023 Deathlist

Looking at the graphs and stats of when the third death occurs in each year. If the death is early it is in a very narrow window (Day 35-38) A majority of third deaths have happened between Days 63-93) Today we are on Day 73 Then there is a big gap to the late third hits which occur after Day 134 I am only using 14 key years for this There has not been a third hit later than Day 166 which is sometime in June

    Richard Hammond

He was a fixture in our house. We watched Jim'll Fix It and listened to his Old Record Club on Sunday lunchtimes. He was one of the most recognizable celebrities of the day. my wife says she always found him creepy but her mum had some of this books. He was a master of obfuscation with all his charity work and hospital visits being so visible. However there were those who was suspicious. The producer who worked on Children in Need refused to have Saville any where near the event

I think George Michael was a great singer but after his Wham days he just didn't have many great songs.
