    Brinsworth House and Denville Hall

Daily Mirror article says Bruce is still visiting and caring for his first wife. Apparently, she was moved in five years ago, after it became impossible to care for her at home. Also, mentions she had a stroke.

    Derby Dead Pool 2013

Just read the entire Katherine Crowe blog entry myself (le sigh). Sounds to me more like positive thinking than any actual medical pro telling her she'll see 2014 or Xmas. And, she's still in hospice. I haven't given up, and neither will she evidently...

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Picture Tweeted by Margaret Atwood of her and Alice Munro on Sunday. I guess she looks kinda frail, but not that awful.

    Widow(er) Shopping

No news about Jovanka Brons, but another of Tito's three wives, Herta Haas has just died "in obscurity" in Belgrade, aged 96. Jovanka Broz in a "critical condition" in a Serbian hospital. Slightly improving, but still not in good shape at all, especially if this excerpt is true: Dead.

    Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi

The rebel group holding him in the Zintan province have adjourned his trial to December 12th, although he was also due in court in Tripoli for a pre-trail hearing for other charges. Big headache, basically.

    Prince Friso Of The Netherlands

Think the only reason I kept him off this year was the reports that he had regained "minimal consciousness" in late 2012. Thinking of the kind of top notch health care royals get, too, I thought he'd be another Sonny von Bülow.

    Dying Bigots

Had Phyllis Schlafly on my list last year. She turns 89 in a few days. Probably one of those sour old hags that makes it to a hundred, though.

African Leaders - Despots and Democratic

Omar al-Bashir had a lipoma removed in November, which may or may not have been mentioned here, I don't know. Government claimed it wasn't serious. However, the picture of him in this NYT article about a summit in Nigeria, shows him looking thinner and more "cancery" than other recent pictures I've seen of him.

    Harper Lee

I subscribe to Vanity Fair, and just got the Harper Lee issue a few days ago. Nothing too much new, but it says, "she is paralyzed on the left side, profoundly dead, 95 percent blind, and has very poor memory,"

    Pete Seeger

Often seems like couples who've been together for such long times are quick to follow one another to the grave. This might be the final push needed for old Pete.
